Picture Credit: Claudio Bergamin   Poor Little Things - Deal Breaker Release Date: September 30, 2021 Label: selfrelease Format: Digital Length: 32:27 Genre: Heavy Rock / Glam Rock Origin: Brisbane ,  Australia "Deal Breaker" is the second full-length by Australian Retro Rock duo Poor Little Things. Band members Tina and  Dave  invite us on a sonic time travel to the Golden Era of Hard and Heavy Rock. The album transfers us to a time when there were no mobile phones, no social media shit storms, and no autotune vocals. Instead, "Deal Breaker" tastes like petrol-driven cars, telephone booths, cold beer, and sweet freedom. Retro fans, turn up the volume! If you loved "Stranger Things" for its soundtrack, Poor Little Things' sophomore album will please you, too. The recipe for these ten songs is simple but successful. Dynamic Hard Rock riffs roll forward like the wheels of a pickup truck on the highway, glammy motifs provide extra catchiness, and Tina Ja...

Album Review: Crosson - Rock'n Roll Love Affair (2020)

Rock music is one of those timeless instances in our modern world. New subgenres of Rock music appear, some evolve, others stagnate, some reform, and in general there's a lot of intertemporal movement in Rock music which I really enjoy. One of those recurring and ever reappearing subgenres is Glam Rock . Sometimes it gets mixed with cool Space Rock and Heavy Rock'n Roll and then a great album such as Giuda 's " E.V.A. " is being released. Sometimes it puts on ridiculous masks and wins the Grand Prix d'Eurovision de la Chanson. And sometimes it ends up in one of the best musicals of all time . Another of those time travellers is the Sydney -based band Crosson. Their newest album "Rock'n Roll Love Affair" will be released via Galaxy Records on March 27 2020. The band is known for its shows at which the front man is accompanied by two young female dancers who might be younger than the band itself. Time travelling gimmicks that disturb me a bi...

LP Review: Giuda - E.V.A. (2019) (German)

LP Review: Giuda - E.V.A. (2019) (English)

It has been three years since I heard of the band Giuda for the first time. In 2016 I wrote a short review on their last LP "Speaks Evil". Today I'm very happy that the shipment of their newest work "E.V.A." arrived at my flat. For those who have never heard of Giuda, we're talking about a Rock'n'Roll band from Rome with influences from Glam Rock and early Punk Rock. Giuda who named themselves after Judas from the Bible have shrunk from a quintet to a quartet since their last release. The 2016 LP still featured some Cock-Rock, AC/DC-like sounds which are not present on the contemporary LP. I am very glad of the latter. The new LP is defintely dedicated to space. Not only does the cover artwork look like the banner of a 70s Science Fiction film. Also the tracklist features lots of galactic contents with song titles such as "Overdrive", "Space Walk", "Interplanetary Craft", "Space Go", or "Cosmic Love...
