Picture Credit: Demonstealer Artwork: Dechristianize Art Demonstealer - And this too shall pass Release Date: December 11, 2020 Label: selfrelease Format: Digital Length: 21:11 Genre: ( Melodic ) Death Metal Origin: Mumbai , India Sahil Makhija  also known as Demonstealer is the second artist from India featured on this site. Earlier this year, there were two reviews by Thrash Metal band Amorphia . One-person band Demonstealer is not a bit less extreme and yet takes a different line. What we can hear on this four-track EP is brutally raging Death Metal with some melodic parts. Thus, the word Melodic is put in brackets in the headline. Sahil Makhija  has written all parts and recorded all instruments on "And this too shall pass" apart from Daniel K. Rego who helped engineering the clean vocals on 'From Flesh to Ashes'. Sahil Makhija  proves that he is an original of brutal Metal from India. Each of the four tracks on "And this too shall pass" is coined by mas...

Album Review: Amorphia - Merciless Strike (2020)

Image
In January I reviewed the first album by India 's Old School Thrash Metal band Amorphia " Arms to Death ". For some reason their second album "Merciless Strike" escaped my notice even though it was released in January 2020. But better late then never, I'll talk to you about the new release by Amorphia. Let's enjoy some kick-ass Thrash Metal from Cherthala , Alappuzha. Photo Credit: Amorphia / Awakening Records Amorphia are very true to party principles. The theme of "Merciless Strike" resembles the one from "Arms to Death" a lot. Nevertheless, the second album pleases me even more than the debut. Amorphia have worked on the vernier adjustment a lot. The arrangement of the songs is further defined than before and still they mow down huge landscapes with their thrashing sound. Beyond any sign of mercy or remorse Amorphia bomb straight forward with full throttle. Hacking, slaying Thrash Metal in its purest form leaves nothing ...

Album Review: Amorphia - Arms to Death (2019)

It is time for some heavy Old School Thrash. Therefore, today's object of desire is Amporphia's album "Arms to Death". Amorphia from Cherthala, Alappuzha were founded in 2012 with the deep desire to keep traditional and brutal Thrash Metal alive. The Indians' album "Arms to Death makes a very good effort in doing so. Lovers of Thrash and Speed Metal won't be mistaken by checking out the album which was released on Awakening Records . Neither the state of Kerala nor India itself were regions from where I expected a mincing Thrash band to come from. Fortunately, Amorphia managed to close that prejudiced gap of mine. Further, the music by Amorphia has nothing to do with any Oriental, Folklorist or whatever influence. The band plays Thrash Metal the way we know it from groups such as Sodom or Kreator. Straight, loud, fast. For around 36 minutes the trio shoots uptempo songs with the speed of a gatling gun and the intensity of a Merkava tank. The lyri...
