Berlin-based independent artist IRYS is constantly providing us with gloomy and ethereal soudscapes for the darkest of dancefloors, dungeon clubs, or celebrations. IRYS' first appearance on MangoWave was in October 2021 when her single release 'Circles' was presented. Now with the sixth single 'Weirdo', IRYS is back in the new year 2022
The song is driven by a scratchy synthetic bass line that fills up the room like a heavy carpet woven from Post Punk, Darkwave, and dreamy psychedelia. Above this massive foundation, the air is full of shny sparkles, flickering lights, semi-transparent waves, and animating particles. Glitchy noises interact with gentle surges of serotonine within an atmosphere that is loaded with electricity. Post Punk, Darkwave, and Trip Hop merge to a gorgeous Dark Pop anthem, ready to set the listeners into an ecstatic trance.

And as the soundscape creates a dopamin-loaded mist of colours and clouds, IRYS' rwaches out of this sonic fog, taking the listeners by their hand. With bouyant pirouettes and gracile movements, 'Weirdo' becomes a joyful dance that finds its climax in the thrilling and dynamic chorus.
IRYS' most exciting so far is an invitation to a joyful dance within a hazy sonic environment - an ecstatic party for the weirdos and their friends.
