Norwegian quartet Beachheads continue their musical journey that began with the release of the Single "Shadow of a Man / Get Away" in 2015 and had its first milestone set with the release of the selftitled debut album in arly 2017. In the beginning, Beachheads may have appeared to be a little side project by members of Overthrow and Kvelertak, but with the second full-length release out via Fysisk Format, we can finally clarify that Beachheads are way more than that.
Beachheads' "II" has everything, a diverse album needs. Upbeat party anthems like 'Death of a Nation' can be found as well as melancholic Shoegaze ballads like 'Change', Progressive Folk hymns such as '1000 Hurts', or sensual Indie Pop songs like 'Live and let live'. And thus, Beachheads' sophomore longplayer feels like a Pan-Northern sonic conglomerat combining the sheer power of Big Bang, the deep melancholy of BSÍ, the emotional and dynamic movement of Kakkmaddafakka, and the harmonic arrangements by Torgeir Waldemar.
This albums serves all emotions, and it will leave you with a new-found smile. This is Indie Rock for the wanderlusty, Power Pop for the road, Garage Rock for the hopeful.
Music from every post will stay in the MangoRotation playlist for 14 days.
