Vonamor - Vonamor (MR)
(36:03, Album, CD/Digital, Time to Kill Records, 16/03/2022)
On their self-titled debut album, Vonamor from Italian capital Rome invite their audience to a deep dive into ethereal gloom, atmospheric noises, and expressive dynamics. On eight tracks, Vonamor provide us with a futuristic and dystopian sound that creates a powerful vortex made from Darkwave, Dream Pop, Industrial, and Post Rock. This stunning album feels like fantastic lucid dream in a futuristic setting.

Firpo Chompeavy - Smoking 45 (MR)
(50:25, Album, Digital, Wormhole Death Records, 18/03/2022)
Italian-Scottish Stoner Rock quartet Firpo Chompeav present their first full-length release. But this is not your typical easy-going, slow-riding, enjoy-your-sunburn Stoner Rock. Firpo Chompeavy let those on the fast lane eat dust with their full-throttle Fuzz Rock, and they mark their territory as they are 'Fighting with a Stool'. The twelve-track debut album "Smoking 45" smashes like a meteor and leaves nothing behind but burning rubble.

Fooks Nihil - Tranquility (MR)
(38:33, Album, Vinyl/Digital, Unique Records, 18/03/2022)
One-and-a-half years after the release of their self-titled debut album, Fooks Nihil from Wiesbaden, Germany are back with their sophomore full-length release "Tranquility". On eleven light-footed and harmonic songs, the Hessian band invites us to some sweet sonic reverie as they let Beat and Folk merge in front of a psychedelic and progressive background. Feel-good vibrations leave plenty of space for happy sighs on a coherent album.

Once Upon A Winter - Void Moments of Inertia (MR)
(42:29, Album, Vinyl/CD/Digital, selfrelease, 18/03/2022)
On their fourth longplayer "Void Moments of Inertia", Once Upon A Winter from Greek metropolis Thessaloniki return with the energy they have scooped since the release of their previous album "Pain and other Pleasures" in 2019. The new work is coined by artistic symphonic arrangements and sophisticated songwriting. Once Upon A Winter create atmospheric soundscapes as wide as the horizon, and as melancholic as a long farewell at sunset. The Post Rock arrangements by the six musicians draw a gigantic bow from meditating Ambient souds up to frosty Blackgaze gusts.

Playgrounded - The Death of Death (MR)
(39:57, Album, Vinyl/CD/Digital, Pelagic Records,18/03/2022)
Within the realms of Prog, Post Rock, and Alternative, it appears that Playgrounded's second longplayer "The Death of Death" is one of the most anticipated album releases of 2022. And nobody will be disappointed by what the band from Athens, Greece and Rotterdam, Netherlands has provided us with. The six-track release is a fascinating and cinematic sonic journey to a world somewhere behind our mirrors. Deep melancholy, glitchy walls of noise, heavy riffing, the sweetest harmonies, and intelligent songwriting create a coherent masterpiece to activate the audience's mental cinema.

Zwaard - Bloed en Wijn (MR)
(28:44, Album, Vinyl/Cassette/Digital, Argento Records, 18/03/2022)
"Boed en Wijn" (Dutch: "Blodd and Wine") is the first full-length release by Netherlands' Satanic Black Metal band Zwaard. The three tracks that are simply named 'I', 'II', and 'III' are filled with a raw, hostile, but very atmospheric sound. Thunderstorms of riffs break down above the ethereal and sardonic leads. The vocals fill this impressive sound scape with a thick and merciless fog. Zwaard's "Bloed en Wijn" may not be for cowards, but lovers of raw and trve Black Metal are highly recommended to get a copy of this great release.

Light Beneath - Light Beneath (MR)
(39:45, Album, Digital, Inverse Records, 25/03/2022)
Post Metal quartet Light Beneath was formed in Tampere, Finland about four years ago. Now, Inverse Records presents the four-piece's first album that comes with six tracks as heavy and cold as a tempest in the North. Light Beneath let melodic and mesmerizing Post Rock themes build up to sharp and massive Post Metal behemoths until they crash like giant waves on coastal rocks by the power of intense Sludge.

R.A.I.D. - Defiance (MR)
(20:19, EP, CD/Digital, Rottweiler Records, 25/03/2022)
On their third release, Rueban And the Imperial Division (R.A.I.D.) from Hyderabad, India shoot a merciless and angry crossover of Hardcore and Thrash Metal at us for twenty minutes. The quartet from Telangana openly show that they have had enough of injustice, oppression, and lethargy. Instead, via their powerful sounds, they arise 'From the Ashes' like a phoenix stronger than before. Thei call for a change includes inner conflicts and thus, R.A.I.D. covered 'I against' by Massive Attack and Mos Def on this banging Hardcore EP.
