Album Review: Demonhead - Black Devil Lies (2019)
Four years have passed since Demonhead released their debut album " Bring on the Doom ". Four years that were not only defined by joy and happiness. But as Demonhead re-formed in 2017 the decision to channel all negativity into the production of new music was made easily. The outcome is the Melbourne-based band's second full-length album " Black Devil Lies ", recorded at Monolith Studios by Chris Themelco . On a ten new songs and two bonus tracks Demonhead play heavy and raw Thrash Metal that includes influences from Stoner Rock or Doom Metal as well as some Punk Rock . Brachial beats constantly push forward while intense riffing thrashes through every level of pereception. This massive instance is decorated by great variety in tempo, plenty of stops and fills, and lightning-fast Heavy Metal soli. What I like especially are the powerfully shouted backing vocals.
