Antillectual's newest release is a 7'' Vinyl containing four cover versions. The idea the Dutch band had was to cover four songs that had a strong impact on early day Punk Rock . Instead of paying hommage to the bands that influenced the Nijmegen-based trio themselves, they preferred going back to the beginnings of Punk Rock Culture. The outcome are four classics reinterpreted in the melodic and somewhat Mod-influenced style of Antillectual. The cover arwork by Andy Dahlström  shows four pictures of Antillectual which are based on the four originals. The beautiful thing about this cover is that you can wrap it around the vinyl record whatever way you want. It will always show two of the artworks. Release date of the EP is May 12, 2020. First song is 'Truth hits everybody' by The Police. Kurze Zeit nach der Jahrtausendwende erlebten wir in Westeuropa einen gewaltigen Hype des Emocore und Screamo . Der Einfluss war omnipräsent in Musik, Mode, Kleidung, Frisuren und auch die Musikmagazine waren voll damit. Ich selbst habe mich sehr schwer getan, dem Stil viel abzugewinnen. Doch dann entdeckte ich im Ox Fanzine die Band Days in Grief aus Köln. Das war genau die Mischung aus brachialem Hardcore, intelligenten Breaks und gefühlvollem Gesang, mit der ich etwas anfangen konnte. Days in Grief gibt es nun auch schon lange nicht mehr. Aber kürzlich stolperte ich über die schöne Erkenntnis, dass es eine Nachfolgeband gibt: Crispr Cas Method. Crispr Cas Method stellen sich zusammen aus Mitgliedern von Days in Grief und KMPFSPRT . DevilsBridge aus dem Schweizer Kanton Thurgau feierten vor kurzem ihr achtjähriges Bestehen. Gefeiert wurde das Jubiläum mit der Single " Rebirth " Ende letzten Jahres und dem darauffolgenden " Illuminate " im Februar 2020. Alleine das macht mich schon sehr glücklich. Und auch der Inhalt überzeugt mit komfortabler Atmosphäre und freundlich fließender Eleganz. The story of Vile Crone begins with illustrator and graphic designer Tom G  from Adelaide , Australia experimenting with his broken guitar. While playing, strumming, recording, looping, sampling and programming at some point the one-person project Vile Crone was born. And finally, on January 5, 2020, the first release "Apostle" was published. The five-track EP can be downloaded on Bandcamp or streamed on Spotify . The sound Vile Crone present on their EP is a raw and somewhat melodic melange of Black Metal and Doom Metal . Rough high-speed riffing meets a halting, gloomy, dark atmosphere and is decorated with symphonic synthie leads from time to time. My first thoughts on Thrash Bandicoot's first EP "Milwaukee Cannibal" are: Oh boy, when's the last time I have played a Crash Bandicoot game? That name though, guess they're playing Thrash Metal , and Oh, another Dahmer-themed release? But enough for the prejudiced thoughts. The Wollongong-based quartet debuts with their five-track EP "Milwaukee Cannibal", a brutally grooving 25 minutes of highspeed Thrash and Death Metal . Heavy riffing grabs you by the guts while the brachial drums repeatedly punch you in the face and singer  Daniel  screams the crap out of you. This is just gorgeous. The attribute Thrash cannot be defined clearer as Thrash Bandicoot do. For those of you complaining contemporary Thrash Metal is lacking force and brute, I've got something for you! Let me introduce you to Lima -based five-piece destruction crew Hellthrasher. The band has recently released their nine-track EP "En Tinieblas" (Spanish for "In Darkness"). The EP contains about half an hour of pure, heavy, raw and deeply Blackened Thrash Metal . I recommend you to fasten your seatbelts and make sure you have enough space to bang your head like crazy since the five musicians provide you with the roughest full-throttle Thrash Metal. Two years afters their first release " In Darkness Act I " Thrash Metal quartet Warrior Within strike back with their second EP "In Light Act II". Founded in the early 90s the band from Sunshine Coast, Queensland went through some changes in their line-up until now being thrashing, hammering and stomping like crazy. The new selfreleased EP is available since 08 February 2020 and comes with four tracks lasting 20:36 minutes. On those tracks the band plays rough and Thrash Metal with rattling sounds, speedy riffing and a roughneck Hardcore attitude. After their succesful 2016 LP " Klotho ", Adelaide -based Groove and Thrash Metal band Alkira got busy promoting their music in Australia , New Zealand and South East Asia. In November 2019 the South Australian quartet came back with their newest selfreleased EP "The Pulse". The five-track release can be purchased on their Bandcamp profile  as MP3, FLAC or CD. Was tut man, wenn die musikalische Umgebung nicht ausreichend befriedigend ist? Die einfachsten Lösungen wären natürlich Schmollen oder Nörgeln. Simon , Djast  und Luis  haben sich glücklicherweise für eine deutlich bessere Methode entschieden: selber besser machen. So ungefähr lässt sich die Geburt der Band Emperors Lair im Jahr 2018 rekonstruieren. Bereits im Juni 2019 war es dann auch schon so weit, dass die EP das Licht der Welt erblickte. Ami Lyons aus meiner Heimatstadt Würzburg hat sich zusammen mit ihrer Band bestehend aus Tom, Dave, und Sebastian ins Sonic Storm Studio gesetzt und ist mit einer angenehm aktivierenden und leichtfüßigen EP wieder herausgekommen. Fünf Tracks und etwa 22 Minuten voll mit halbakustischem Rock'n'Roll und Blues Rock hat Ami Lyons auf ihre EP "Back Home" gepackt. Die Künstlerin fesselt mit ihrer dunklen aber klaren Stimme, und beweist auf dem Track 'As long as', dass ihr vollklingender Gesang auch in hohen Lagen souverän klingt. Die Bamberger Thrash und Speed Metal Punks Hellburst haben eine kleine EP mit drei neuen Knallern beim Oettinger Label 30 Kilo Fieber Records rausgebracht. Erst letztes Jahr haben Hellburst zusammen mit der Würzburger Satanik Speed Metal Band Recrucifixiön eine Split aufgenommen, und jetzt schon der nächste Tonträger in den Startlöchern. El Carpintero aus Würzburg is Blues Rocker mit Leib und Seele. Bei seinem Künstlernamen musste ich zunächst an einen Karpfen denken. Dass das spanische Wort "carpintero" doch sehr am englischen "carpenter" ist, habe ich irgendwie gekonnt ignoriert. Aber egal... hier soll es um Musik gehen. Our Silent Voice ist ein Quartett aus dem sonnigen Dachau, und entgegen ihres Namens sind die vier Musiker gar nicht mal so leise. Our Silent Voice existieren seit etwas mehr als zwei Jahren und dürften Konzertbesuchern im Münchner Umkreis schon mal aufgefallen sein. Das Vierergespann spielt eine interessante, treibende und melodische Mischung aus Hardcore Punk, Emocore oder Screamo, Nu Metal und einigen Anleihen aus Death Metal oder Deathcore. Azzip und Hoodini aus Ulm sind zusammen JoshiParka. Das Duo steht für druckvollen Rap auf schleppenden bis mittelschnellen Beats, Texte über das alltägliche Leben mit seinen Höhen und Tiefen, und eine Attitüde zwischen harter Schale und herzlichem Kern.
