The Same River are four musicians from Athens , Greece . In March 2020 they came out with their first release. The four-track EP "Live at the Blackbox" is a self-explanatory output since it was recorded live at the Blackbox in Athens. Photo Credit: The Same River "Live at the Blackbox" contains twenty of halting, intense and thrilling Heavy Blues Rock . The Same River creates huge scaffoldings of slow but powerful motifs hot as desert sand. In the acoustic introductions and bridges of the songs the band sometimes reminds me of Tito & Tarantula which might be due to the remarkable voice of Diamond Pr . The heavy parts on the other hand show some similarity with early Coogans Bluff. As each of the tracks climax The Same River build impressive bridges between warmly rolling Blues Rock and bone-dry Desert Rock. As you might assume from the title of the LP this is live footage from Psychic Lemon's gig at The Smokehouse, Ipswich in August 2018; forty-two minutes of progressive, funky, psychedelic, and krauty Space Rock from a fantastic show in Suffolk. Cambridge-based trio Psychic Lemon played five of their greatest songs at this gig, and the outcome is an amazing experience of pure psychedelic energy. The opening track "Interstellar Fuzz Star" offers a clear impression of what the audience has to expect during this journey: Psychic Lemon are a fuzz-driven funky rocket shooting for uncharted corners of far galaxies. With ease they travel along meteor showers, lost planets, glowing suns, and beautiful images. You better fasten your seatbelts since Psychic Lemon are rocketing through the sky with ludacris speed. Der gestrige Konzertabend war ein großartiger. Das wunderschöne Immerhin in Würzburg war brechend voll, der Sound war gut abgestimmt, die Masse war bierselig und bestens drauf, und Lord Vicar und Thronehammer hatten ihren Tour-Auftakt. Wo anders als in den Katakomben der Würzburger Posthalle kann der Start der "Doom upon us" so gut gelingen. Ich möchte soviel schon vorwegnehmen: es war eine großartige Darbietung mit zwei Konzerten und einer dazugehörigen Party, die wirklich viel Freude bereitet haben. Thronehammer Eröffnet hat also die noch sehr neue Formation Thronehammer. Neu ist vielleicht nicht das beste Wort; Thronehammer haben zum allerersten Mal überhaupt zusammen ein Konzert gespielt. Und es war der absolute Wahnsinn. Das ist Doom, der tief in der Magengrube ansetzt und alles intensiv durchschaukelt. Mit den Spacelords verbinde ich schöne Erinnerungen und Anekdoten. Zum ersten Mal bin ich dem sympathischen Trio aus Reutlingen auf dem Psychedelic Network Festival in Würzburg im Jahr 2015 begegnet. Die gelassene Wucht mit der die drei Schwaben Space Rock und Psychedelic Rock mit krautigen Klängen kombinieren, hat mich komplett vom Hocker gehauen. Gerüchten zufolge waren auch bewusstseinserweiternde Substanzen im Spiel, aber das sei mal dahingestellt. Zwei weitere Mal stand ich in Kontakt mit den Spacelords; beide Male, weil sie im Rahmen von Konzerten in Würzburg im Babelfish Hostel schliefen, wo ich arbeite. Das letzte Mal haben wir gemeinsam gegen ein widerspenstiges Schlafsofa gekämpft. Letzten Endes hat bei diesem Konflikt der Mensch gegen das Möbelstück gewonnen.
