Die Mainzer Band The Mountain King ist irgendwie bis jetzt an mir vorbei gegangen. Kürzlich habe ich dann doch den Zugang zu ihrem 2015 veröffentlichten Debut "MIND DENY UNDO" erhalten, worüber ich sehr froh bin. Man mag es Noise nennen, man mag auf die Doom Metal Basis der Arrangements eingehen, oder man kann sich an den Glitch Sounds aufhängen; doch all das wäre keine gerechte Beschreibung für dieses einzigartige Werk. Auf einem sehr einfach gehaltenen Doom Metal Thema erstreckt sich die Spielwiese, auf der The Mountain King ihre chaotischen Umtriebe ausführen. Dabei fallen wahrscheinlich den meisten Hörenden zunächst die Störgeräusche und Effekte auf, die sich unabhängig vom Hauptthema in ihren ganz eigenen Sphären bewegen. Rauschen in allen Farben und Tönen schwebt und kratzt über die instrumentalen Arrangements und erschaffen dabei eine unikate elektronische Psychedelik.
