After previously publishing two demos, a split, some singles, and a compilation, this can be regarded as Parasite's proper debut release. Ten years later, Parasite are still active. In the meantime, they have released another EP, a live album, several splits, and one full-length album called "Zankyo 残響". Nevertheless, the EP "Metal Punk Massacre" is widely regarded to be a legendary release, and hence for its tenth anniversary, it receives a re-issue via Peruvian label Inti Records. The fifth album by Grace.Will.Fall is a great display of their melange of sophisticated Post Hardcore and dirty Crustcore. The air on this release is full of smoke and mist while the band mercilessly (but organized!) hacks and thrashes forward. It also appears as if Grace.Will.Fall have fueled up some Heavy Metal before they started writing the songs for "Barren by Design". NWoBHM licks easily slide into the brachial soundscape on this album. Holy Satan! What great news, Martyrdöd are back! I have missed the crusty Black Metal Punks for quite some time but now finally I can penetrate my eardrums with their newest twelve-track-disc "Hexhammaren". Martyrdöd have recorded around forty minutes of new pitch black, crusty Punk Rock songs. The lyrics are part Swedish and part English, the tempo is mostly up, and the singer's raucous voice instantly gives me goosebumps. Compared to older LPs by Martyrdöd "Hexhammaren" sounds a bit cleaner. But the dirty Crust Punk attitude is still present on their new disc. It may here and there been substituted by a stronger Heavy oder Thrash Metal impact on their songwriting. Nevertheless Martyrdöd have not unlearned to kick ass at all.
