Almost stubbornly, the offbeat guitar riff strolls across the song and spreads a sunny attitude. The sophomore release "Walking the Hedgehog" is, of course, much more recent, but it also is very different from the debut. But don't you worry, it still is a beautifully weird EP. The impact of Rap has mostly vanished, except for the song 'Fallen', and also the New Wave sound has mostly made way for an increase influence of Garage Rock and Rock'n'Roll, compared to "3 Kids and a Mortgage". "Walking the Hedgehog" should be imagined to be a live recording - or at least, Lewca's intention was to record a set of tracks that would make a great gig. Dass ich die Bad Manners mal live erleben kann, habe ich wirklich nie erwartet. Inmitten meiner Vorfreude habe ich direkt versucht, meinen Vater und seine Geschwister für das Konzert zu mobilisieren, aber daraus wurde dann leider nichts. Im Gegensatz zu mir haben die aber auch schon vor Jahrzehnten die Chance bekommen, ebendies zu erleben. Mit Bier in der Hand und vielen Erwartungen im Kopf ging es dann also los zur Posthalle, um eine Band auf der Bühne anzusehen, die über zehn Jahre vor meiner Geburt gegründet wurde. Entgegen meiner Erwartungen waren aber auch einige nochmal deutlich jüngere Gäste vor dem Einlass zu sehen, und bei zwei Gästen machte es sogar den Anschein, als würden Großvater und Enkel gemeinsam zum Konzert gehen. Falls ich irgendwann mal mit meinen Enkelkindern zusammen zu einem Musikevent gehe, werde ich vielleicht nachvollziehen können, wie das ist. Ebenso verwundert waren wir über die doch sehr kleine Menge, die sich da vor dem Eingang der Posthalle versammelt h...
