Only few beats into Isoscope's debut album "Ten Pieces" are required to clarify that this is musical journey is about to get wild. The quartet from German capital Berlin was founded in late 2018 and consists of Merle (bass, vocals), Konstantin (guitars, keys, clarinet, drums, vocals), Bonnie (drums, guitars, vocals), and Philipp (guitars, vocals). They are also a founding member of the GRRRL NOISY collective which has recently released a great soli sampler for the people in Ukraine, and which is also home to 24/7 Diva Heaven.


As one might already assume by reading the album title, "Ten Pieces" features ten tracks. The sounds that Isoscope present in these 45 minutes could not be any more heterogeneous. Savage and raw Punk Rock clashes with the artistic changes in metre and structure of Math Rock; the gloomy melancholy of Post Punk embraces the nihilist and destructive energy of Noise; and above all, a loveful and soothing web of insanity and joyful madness keeps it all together. When viewed from afar, inner cohesion might be hard to grasp, but once the arts of Isoscope are approached in the right way, the golden line through "Ten Pieces" becomes evident.


And thus, "Ten Pieces" by Isoscope is a fantastic and thrilling experience. The Berlin-based quartet presents a sound that is as wild and random as life itself - and yet every detail is exactly where it belongs. Therefore, this is an album to play on repeat - with every new spin you will encounter new nuances that will make you smile.
