Children of Adam Band - Timbuktu: The Human Journey (MR)
(81:18, Album, CD/Digital, selfrelease, 20/12/2021)
The Children of Adam Band from Pennsylvania, PA is a fourteen-member ensemble that follows the mission to spread love, peace, and positivity with their sounds. The group's second longplayer "Timbuktu: The Human Journey" is the sophomore release of their "PMB: Positive Music Bearing" series. On more than eighty minutes, the Children of Adam Band presents the sounds of a unified world, having modern music such as Jazz, Rhythm and Blues, Funk or Groove embrace the sonic beauty of traditional sounds from the African continent, from the Americas, or from the Middle East. Thus, "Timbuktu: The Human Journey" is a wholesome enterprise from the cradle of humankind to current days.

(((S))) - The World of (((S))) (MR)
(35:54, Album, Digital, Aenaos, Records, 28/12/2021)
The artist name (((S))) may be ungooglable, but fortunately on streaming services such as Bandcamp, the artist can be found though. This ten-track release is an invitation to "The World of (((S)))", a sonic exploration to the Danish artist's reality. If the songs on this release appear familiar to you, then probably you are an (((S))) supporter of the first hour because the album on hand contains re-recorded and re-interpreted versions of songs from the first two albums "Ghost" (2009) and "Phantom" (2010). Using modern-day recording technology and updated equipment, (((S))) has given these ten Post Punk and Dreamwave anthems a whole new colouring. The result is a 35-minute sonic reverie full of passion, sweet gloom, and real emotions.

Saves the Witch - Sounds from a Burning Forest (MR)
(49:12, Album, Digital, Ocean Box Studios, 14/01/2022)
On their sophomore longplayer "Spunds from a Burning Forest", Saves the Witch from Southport, NC, create a thrilling and exciting arc of suspense that imitates a giant sinusoid hovering through vast landscapes. Thus, Saves the Witch provide their audience with hypnotzing Ambient while they raise the tension and therefore gradually move towards sensual Shoegaze and Post Rock. As these tendencies approaching heavier sounds continue, the band reaches the realms of Post Metal and Heavy Prog. Only moment before this giant sonic wave is about to break, Saves the Witch smoothly let it flatten and return. With this wholesome and fascinating recipe, the band leads their audience through fourteen musical tales, each of them unique and coherent.

Sano Hill - The Climb (MR)
(04:09, Single, Digital, selfrelease, 28/01/2022)
While working on his debut album, singer and songwriter Sano Hill from Galway, Ireland presents the first single off that upcoming longplayer. On dark and atmospheric Folk Rock, the Irish artist gives us an insight of what moved him recently. Compassion and hope can be found in the harmonies of 'The Climb' as well as melancholy, pain, and disrupted inner peace. Global conflicts and the alarming signs of climate change have left their traces in this soundscape next to the impact of the virus. And yet, 'The Climb' is a tune full of joy and passion as it spreads hope for change and the awareness that a better future can be attained.

Jvliet - Seven Hills (MR)
(13:25, EP, Digital, selfrelease, 05/02/2022)
On her first solo EP, Jvliet from Courbevoie, France presents a fascinating coming-of-age narrative wrapped in emotional and thrilling sounds. The EPs eponymous "Seven Hills" stand for the ups and downs that mark the lives of many young people on their journey from adolescence to adulthood. Artistic Rock and Pop merge to an ethereal and thrilling sonic reverie on which Jvliet lets her audience re-experience the breathtaking rollercoaster ride that we call life. Unlimited liberty and hollow isolation, heavy pain and infite joy are extreme points between which this stunning EP and its coherent arc of suspense are spanned. Thus, "Seven Hills" is an amazing debut for the hopeful, for the dreamers, and for the realists likewise.

Hana Piranha - Fucked up Feeling (MR)
(04:01, Single, Digital, selfrelease, 11/03/2022)
The latest single by Brighton-based artist Hana Piranha is not suitable for sensible moods. The New Zealand-born artist presents a powerful anthem which embraces the act of self-destruction. With heavy Alternative Rock riffs grinding on  masive walls of synths, the verses are an impressive sonic analogy to the numbness of the grey everyday in our dystopian present. Tension and intensity of the sound rise towards approaching the chorus until they climax in the anthemic line "I just want that fucked-up feeling". Hana Piranha's single perfectly displays pain and self-destruction as the only proof of oneself being still alive.

Am Samstag - Dualism (MR)
(41:01, Album, Digital, Black Market Music and Urgent Disk Records, 18/03/2022)
The band name Am Samstag means "Saturday" or "On Saturday" in German. Nevertheless, this trio from Swiss town Lausanne sounds like a whole long weekend. With "Dualism", the three musicians from the alpine country have now released their debut album which contains twelve original tracks and a cover of PJ Harvey's 'Hardly Wait'. Between self-confident ease of mind, the urge to yell and shout against the status quo of life on our home planet, and dark humour, Am Samstag provide us with finest Grunge and Punk Rock. Heavy and melancholic riffs create massively rolling dynamics while raging rhythms attack like a horde of wrecking balls. And thus, Am Samstag do not only successfully keep the heritage of both Nirvana and Minor Threat alive, they also bring the Grunge of the next generation.

The Chris Ruben Band - Take the Ride (MR)
(14:33, EP, Digital, selfrelease, 25/03/2022)
When The Chris Ruben Band from New York State are offering you a ride, you should not hesitate but jump in right away. You will not regret this. Elevent months after the release of their debut album "Madness on Repeat", the sextet from the American East Coast is back with this stunning four-track EP. The sound on "Take the Ride" is built on heavy and body-moving rhythms, a warm and omnipresent Funk bass as a foundation. Above that, Blues, Funk, Soul, and Heavy Rock joyfully dance around in spacey circles, impacting each other while the different styles alternate in leading the songs. With mastermind Chris Ruben on main vocals, the band has the perfect master of ceremony for this eclectic mix. With great ease, The Chris Ruben Band creates a highly entertaining and sophisticated sound that brings tons of joy.
