Herzlich willkommen zur letzten Review im Jahr 2019. Heute gibt es mal wieder eine Veröffentlichung aus dem Hause Ponyphone Records aus Schmalkalden. Und zwar geht es um das junge Punk Rock Quintett Samast. Meines Wissens kommt der Name aus der estnischen Sprache und bedeutet "vom gleichen/aus dem gleichen". Knapp eine halbe Stunde beschallt "Flucht nach vorn" die Ohren. Geboten wird hier kraftvoller deutschsprachiger Punk Rock mit viel Druck, ein bisschen Nu Metal und breitem Tonspektrum. Hier und da kann man es auch Deutschpunk nennen. An anderer Stelle werden Skate- oder Surf Punk Elemente stärker. Das Songwriting ist durch viele harmonische Licks und Mehrstimmigkeit geprägt. Melodic Punk würde ich das Ganze dennoch nicht nennen. Dafür schmeckt das Bier doch zu sehr nach Dosenbier. Und das ist sehr gut so! Letztens habe ich an meinem Geburtstag auf dem Konzert von Egotronic die Münchner Punk Band Peter Coretto kennengelernt. Das sympathische Quartett spielt eine harmonische Mischung aus intelligentem und nachdenklichen Deutschpunk und der einen oder anderen Prise Harcore, Post-Punk und Grunge. Leider lässt sich nur wenig über das bisherige Schaffen der Band recherchieren, da die Homepage offline zu sein scheint. Damit bringt mir auch der Downloadcode für die Platte aktuell nicht so viel. Über Away from Life konnte ich jedoch herausfinden, dass es sich bei "Angst kostet Freiheit" um die zweite Veröffentlichung von Peter Coretto in ihrer inzwischen mehr als volljährigen Bandgeschichte handelt. Auf den elf Tracks, die knapp über eine halbe Stunde rotieren, spielen Peter Coretto melodischen aber harten Punk Rock mit vielen Breaks und einer düsteren Stimmung. Six years ago K.A.Z were founded in Lidköping, Sweden with the aim to produce intense and heavy Rock and Metal. One single and one EP later the powerful quintet has released their first full-length album "Fighting for Life" . echolons))) aus Frankfurt am Main gibt auch schon um die eineinhalb Jahrzehnte. Aus den Händen und Köpfen der Stammbelegschaft Daniel , René , Martin  und Hendrik ist bisher in Eigenvertrieb ein Album sowie eine EP entstanden. Das neueste Album "idea of a labyrinth" der gefühlvollen Prog Rocker ist im November 2019 bei Tonzonen erschienen. Etwa eine Dreiviertelstunde lang befassen sich echolons))) auf ihrem neuesten Werk mit Überwachung, Paranoia, dystopischen Zukunfts- (und Gegenwarts-)perspektiven, Flucht ins Einsiedlertum und Geschichten, die gleichermaßen von Bentham , Foucault , oder auch Snowden  erzählt werden könnten. Musikalisch zeigen sie sich dabei in einem klugen und sanften Prog Rock-Gewand. Villeurbanne-based Noise Pop duo Balladur recently released their fourth album "La Vallée Étroite". The title meaning "narrow valley" is a grateful dedication to all supporters, bookers, fans, venues, hotels and so on who accompanied Balladur during the last years. The album begins with a horrifying scream and a horror sample leading into the first track 'Kuda Lumping'. Each song seems to be an hommage to certain people and places the band wants to address. The final song 'Dans la 205' could refer to a hotel room. The place I work at has a room number 205. I am confused. The songs on "La Vallée Étroite" are colourfully psychedelic , glitchy and shoegazy Noise Pop. Post-Punk themes lead into 80s style Electronica, and minimalist motifs patterns echo and swirl around themselves. Die Mainzer Band The Mountain King ist irgendwie bis jetzt an mir vorbei gegangen. Kürzlich habe ich dann doch den Zugang zu ihrem 2015 veröffentlichten Debut "MIND DENY UNDO" erhalten, worüber ich sehr froh bin. Man mag es Noise nennen, man mag auf die Doom Metal Basis der Arrangements eingehen, oder man kann sich an den Glitch Sounds aufhängen; doch all das wäre keine gerechte Beschreibung für dieses einzigartige Werk. Auf einem sehr einfach gehaltenen Doom Metal Thema erstreckt sich die Spielwiese, auf der The Mountain King ihre chaotischen Umtriebe ausführen. Dabei fallen wahrscheinlich den meisten Hörenden zunächst die Störgeräusche und Effekte auf, die sich unabhängig vom Hauptthema in ihren ganz eigenen Sphären bewegen. Rauschen in allen Farben und Tönen schwebt und kratzt über die instrumentalen Arrangements und erschaffen dabei eine unikate elektronische Psychedelik. Nachdem Tonzonen-Chef Dirk Raupach  erst kürzlich gemeinsam mit seinem Bandkollegen Alex Djelassi  über Krautrock Legende Rolf-Ulrich Kaiser  sinnierte , ist schon wieder eine neue Veröffentlichung der Sounds of New Soma bei Tonzonen erschienen. Dieses Mal hat das Duo aus Krefeld mit den Moskauer Space Rockern Maat Lander eine Split auf 12 Zoll herausgebracht. Auf der A-Seite legen Arkadiy , Ilya , und Ivan von Maat Lander eine wuchtige Space und Psychedelic Rock Nummer aufs Parkett. Effekte, die wie tausend kleine Lichter und Armaturen flirren, glitzern und blinken begleiten die aufregende Reise an Bord des Raumschiffs des Maats. Synthies, Gitarren und Drums reichen dem Moskauer Trio vollkommen aus, um eine farbenprächtige Traumreise ins innere Auge der Zuhörenden zu zaubern. Let me tell you about the kick-ass Punk Rock Show I attended yesterday. The Sensitives , The Bloodstrings , and Death by Horse played at the Immerhin in Würzburg on their Female Fronted Boy Bands Tour . This is the story of three concerts, around three hours of amazing Punk Rock and  apparently more than three bottles of beer. Death by Horse Introduced by France Gall's biggest hit Death by Horse entered the stage. The Swedish power quartet jumped into action immediately and singer Jahna spent most of the time in front of the stage. Amongst the front rows of people and moshpits she directed the concert perfectly and with sheer power. As far as I can tell, their song ' Dear Jim ' was played with an alternative ending which I liked a lot. The looped chorus filled the whole venue, and at latest with their smasher "'Straight Edge' the band totally killed it.
