First Frontier - Jagged Line (MR)
London's First Frontier end the year 2021 with a series topic. Their new single 'Jagged Line' deals with the vicious spirals of drug and alcohol abuse. Melancholic Alternative Rock meets dynamic Indie Rock and the compromiseless sound of Garage Rock as the English band plays the soundtrack of flashing images of a night that seems endless. First Frontier manage to create the sound that represents the dichotomy of feeling invincible and fragile at the same time.

Foundry Town Survivors - Foundry Town Survivors (MR)
The Foundry Town Survivors from Ann Arbor, MI have released their selftitled EP in November 05, 2021. Tommy and Mark share their love for Rock and Folk on six new tracks. The EP commences with the Americana ballad 'Mississippi Rising'. Then, the Foundry Town Survivors play autochthonous (Folk) Rock on 'Everything's Okay' and 'Seven Souls', but also show their emotional side on 'Hopes and Dreams'. Fans of progressive, honest, and folky Rock music à la R.E.M., or Allman Brothers Band will be very pleased by this release.

Architrave - Future Ruins (MR)
Jennifer Maher Coleman and Paul Coleman from New York are Architrave. On their newest output "Future Ruins", the Synthwave, Darkwave, and Post Punk duo takes us on a sonic trip to the future. With their bass-driven, ethereal, and atmospheric soundscapes, Architrace make us experience the rise and fall of future societies - and thus, the ten tracks make us see future pageantry and "Furure Ruins". The album is a hot recommendation for fans of Sci Fi and dystopian literature.

Mo Douglas - Fry the Onion gently (MR)
Greetings from the kitchen - chef Mo Douglas has got a very important hint for you: "Fry the onion gently". Between à-la-minute and mis-en-place, between Jazz and Funk, between Dub and Soul, the chef has created a unique and deeply psychedelic menu for us. Mo Douglas and his kitchen hands Prince Joely, Mariya May, and Peter QB dish up a ten-course-menu fit for queens and kings.

1984 - Plandemia
Krnold (guitar) and Daniel Ayala (guitar) from Spanish town Valencia are 1984. Together, they have recently released their first album "Plandemia" which probably refers to the stupidity of some conspiracy theorists that the SARS-COV2 virus is just a big hoax that was introduced in order to oppress the people (or at least white people). The duo has musicked ths narrative via thirteen instrumental tracks which are ornated with plenty of samples from news and broadcasting about the ongoing process of the madness we call reality since early 2020. Music.wise, "Plandemia" soothes our hearng with intelligent and versatile Math Rock and Post Hardcore.

cHoclat FRoG - Snapshot
And here is another release that partially deals with conspiracy theories and alternative facts. Tim and Rainer, also known as cHoclat FRoG, are a Progressive Rock duo from Bad Camberg in the Taunus - one of the most beautiful regions in the German Federal Republic. In eleven acts, the duo holds a stunning lecture on reality and falsehood, language and power, modernism with its chances and risks, capitalism, philosophy, and more. This is intelligent music for an audience that shares a joy for learning.

Misty Route - Without a Trace (MR)
And while we are at it, here is another thrilling debut album. Kostas (drums), George (bass), and Lefteris (guitar, vocals) from Greek capital Athens have released their first full-length album "Without a Trace". Misty Route play rough and yet soothingly mesmerizing Alternative Rock that opens a dark portal for the listeners. Dive into this sonic wonderland, get lost, and enjoy the show.

Gallery of Ghouls - Poisoned Holly
For Christmas 2021, The Swamp Records gave us the "Swamp Santa" compilation. The holidays may be over, but as Ryan Adams told us "Christmas will never go away" and thus, the sound from the swamps shall be heard all over the year. This instrumental piece by Gallery of Ghouls from Stony Brook, NY is a gorgeous combination of psychedelia, heavy sounds, and horror. Turn up the volume and enjoy the poison.

Plog - Färd
Speaking of releases from The Swamp Records, here is "Färd" (Norwegian: "Journey") by Trondheim's Plog (Norwegian: Plow). Jan (drums, synths), Kristian (bass), and André (guitar) enchant our third eyes with soundscapes that let apocalyptic and psychedelic spheres merge in a very progressive way. This sonic journey contains six thrilling passages, each of them between 7 and 14 minutes long. This album is the soundtrack to get carried away to.

Boucan - French Manucure (MR)
The first single off Boucan's self-titled debut album lets us dive into a deep tunnel of Math Rock and Post Rock combined with clashing Post Hardcore and Noise. With 'French Manucure', the duo from Lyon, France gives us a confident presentation of what to expext from the upcoming album which will be out on seven different indie labels on February 04, 2022.

The Vamypres - Holy Water (Live) (MR)
Are you ready for a ten-minute thrill, full of horror, romance, psychedelia, massive riffs, and an intense arc of suspense? Well then, here are Yung Lord (drums, vocals), Shady Lord (guitar), Lady White (organ), and Lord Electric (bass, vocals) from Austrian town Linz. Together, they are The Vampyres, and they hereby provide a gorgeous horror show made from Heavy Rock, Heavy Psych, and creepy Krautrock that makes us feel the happiest goosebumps.

Vonamor - Take your Heart (MR)
A completely different approach to the horror genre is made by Vonamor from Rome, Italy. Their new single 'Take your Heart' beautifully plays with opposing spheres such as light and darkness, love and fear, passion and restraint. Atmospheric Darkwave, combines with gloomy Post Punk and thrilling Electronica creates a soundscape that erases at the spot where contrasts meet.

Голуби и Безумные КашеварыМышь (MR)

'Мышь' (Rusian: 'Mouse') is the newest outout by S. Petersburg's Голуби и Безумные Кашевары (Russian: Doves and Crazy Cooks). Nine musicians present a colourful bouquet of hypnotizing and intelligent music. On this crazy piece, Prog Rock, Psychedelic Rock, Krautrock, Jazz, Frogressive Punk, and the sonorous beauty of Slavic Folk meet to create something unique.

Variants - Momento Mori
Variants is a one-person instrumental project from the Northwestern region of the state of Ohio. A few days before Christmas 2021, the solo project released their first album "Momento Mori". Calm and atmospheric Post Rock and Ambient soundscapes meet harsh and versatile Prog Metal structures with experimental twists and thrilling motifs that resemble the forces of nature.

The Universe is an Ocean - The Universe is an Ocean (MR)
Many things are special about this selftitled release available on cassette via [addicted label].Hungarian multiinstrumentalist andexceptional artist Balazs Söptei makes the sheer vastness of the universe around us sound via intense Drone Doom, psychedelic and cosmic (rock) soundscapes, and an hommage to Douglas Adams. Together with The Mountain King's "The Smell of Stars and Vomit" this might be one of the greatest soundtracks to get lost in outer space in.
