Deimler from Cáceres in Extremadura are back from a long break. The band was originally formed in 1998 and experienced their resurrection in 2018. Today, we gladly listen to the newest release: the five-track EP "Zero One" - available via Awakening Records.
Bass player Luisma Romero, drummer Oscar Trigger, guitar player Toto Castelló, and Pako “Funedëim” Deimler on guitar and vocals present 22 minutes of brutal force, overwhleming atmosphere, and a giant hail of lethal shots.
So, pure fucking Death Metal?, one might ask. The answer is both, yes and no. The music on "Zero One" is mostly influenced by Northern European Death Metal from the era around the last millenium. But Deimler also implement themes of more contemporary Death Metal to their stunning soundscapes - and even some doomy spheres can be spotted in the steams of this crushing war machine.
Deimler don't take any prisoners when marching forward on the battlefield they create on "Zero One". Bridges allowing the audience to catch some breath like in 'Indoctrinate' are rare and they only mark the spot for the next brutal attack of quashing Death Metal.
Growls, deep as the Mariana Trench grind above the super raw surface of massive riffs grooving with highspeed. Guitars and bass are highly distorted and yet the sound is very defined and does thus not remind of swampy stomping. Heavy Metal leads decorate the violent soundscape with Northern harmonies from time to time before they lead into the following aussault. Drumming like a gun turret creates the perfect pace for this atmosphere. And if you wanna hear something amazing, listen to the distorted slapping bass lead in the first break of the track 'Mechanical Universes of Flesh' - goosebumps guaranteed.

With only five tracks and 22 minutes, this EP has so much to offer. Deimler are the Death Star of the Death Metal war machines. Death Star?, one might ask. Yes, Death Star! The Sci-Fi theme takes huge battles and transfers them to space. Deimler are destroying whole fleets of starships on "Zero One", and probably even whole stars are not safe from their destructive force.
