The single 'Answer' is the opening track of Nocturnal Issues' sophomore EP "After the Debauchery" which has been released seven months after its predecessor "Before the Debauchery". With its second part, the "Debauchery" chapter is thus being closed. But before leaving the space of this sonic episode provided by the American artist, it is worth taking a closer look at the single on hand, and on its environment.
Nocturnal Issues is a solo project by multiinstrumentalist, music producer and illustrator called Crowe. Little can be found out about the artist who is well adept to photography, videography and further fields of visual arts. The musical project Nocturnal Issues was born from lack of sleep - nomen est omen. Looking for pursuit and sense in sleepless nights, Crowe's alter ego Nocturnal Issues has come to life and is since then producing music that resonates deep thoughts that evolve in the magical hours between dusk and dawn. The "Debauchery" chapter which is now coming to an end follows the album 2021 album "19-83" and several singles that have been released since then.

For almost three minutes Nocturnal Issues invites their listeners on a sonic trip that is painted in every imaginabl shade of black, grey, sepia, and beyond. Like a black-and-white film vivid of colour, melancholic tristesse so passionate, heart-break so hurtful it feels like pure joy, 'Answer' connects dichotomies by motion. It is the emotionally thick and gloomily sensual sonic heritage of Ian Curtis that has a dominant impact on the sound of 'Answer'. And yet, Nocturnal Issues go far beyond a simple Joy Division tribute here. By adding influences from 1990s Boom Bap Hip Hop (think of MF Doom or Jay Dilla here) and Millenium-Era Alternative Rock, the Post Punk gets a whole different and fresh twist here.
Thus, 'Answer' is rolling through darkness like a burning wheel, illuminating its surrounding. The emotional range of this catchy anthem reaches from desolation and sadness to anger, regret, up to acceptance. Romance and affection interfere with disappointment and rejection in the vocals while the thrilling guitar theme leads through the narrative, accompanied by a warm bass and a gentle but dynamic rhythm.
Nocturnal Issues' 'Answer' is mental cinema and a deeply melancholic anthem. This beautful track is soft like velvet and sharp like razor blades.
