Sithraniel - Various Sensations
Release Date: May 13, 2022
Label: selfrelease
Format: Digital
Duration: 35:29
Genre: Instrumental Heavy Metal
Origin: Turkey

Based in Turkey, Sithraniel is a rare representative of Turkish heavy metal - and the latest release is a seven track album of instrumental compositions.
"Various Sensations" is a kind of conceptual album dedicated to, ahem, various sensations. Every other track is named after a certain feeling, familiar to any metal fan who seeks help in the heaviest genre of music.

The album kicks off with Qualm, “doubt, worry, or fear, especially about one's own conduct; a misgiving”. The bassline introduces a heavy hearted, massive riff, all in medium tempo and accompanied by simplistic accented drumming.
Then Descension fades in with lots of open notes and a pinch of doom. It comes as no surprise as where is heavy there is always doom metal. The track speeds up to some classic standards with thirds.

For Maiden fans there is Onslaught, an epic with acoustic elements and building up tension. SWD features that sweet sweet bell sound, reminiscent of Cathedral - both in mood and songwriting.
And if something goes down, it will surely go up. So there you have it, Ascension, a more energetic metal anthem fit for ye oldschool axefight.

Rejuvenation sets some space for a dramatic number, with some pathos and Hammerfall melodicism. The closing track Tranquillity still feels a little uneasy, but it’s that kind of uneasy when you are just too tired to worry and just stop caring at all - rather just slay another solo and take on a new day.
Sithraniel has that special amateur charm and true dedication to classic heavy metal in just every aspect, from artwork to the mix. Every metal fan will sure find a lick to fall in love with in Various Sensations. Hail!
