The band name Sleeping Village rings two bells. First, and probably less expected, I associated them with Sleeping Village Reviews, a great review page I can recommend you to view from time to time. Second, and most obviously, 'Sleeping Village' was the sixth track of Black Sabbath's debut album.
And the music by New Jeryes-based band Sleeping Village can actually categorized as a Sabbath-like. On their Bandcamp page they claim to be unashamedly worshipping Sabbath.
And before you judge the book by its cover, wait until you listen to the final track 'The Matter of Time'. Just sayin'.

Jumping in the second album "Holy Water", I came up with another association. The powerful opener 'Holy Water' contains a bridge that very much reminds of St. Vitus' 'War is our Destiny'.
Sleeping Village play fast and straightfoward Stoner Doom. A little impact from Heavy Metal here and there, especially guitar-wise, adds to the momentum. Apart from that the sound is dominated by Fuzz, Satan, and apocalyptcism.
Neither does "Holy Water" completely surprise my, nor does it contain any disappointments. Sleeping Village are honestly worhsipping Black Sabbath without copying them. Stoner Rock and Doom Metal for all ages. Powerful Heavy Blues riffs by bass player Tim Gray and guitar player Rick Dal Cartivo float on the massive artillery fire by drummer Scott Borchert. The clear vocals by Rick are melodic, powerful, and fit the soundscape perfectly.
My favourite track is 'The Siren's Song' with its catchy chorus. Altogether, I would love to see Sleeping Village on tour, as I can imagine their concerts to be a powerload of fun.
