.Krushya. - .Dogma.
For almost twenty years, .Krushya. from Patras, Greece have played their vile, brutal, and straightforward mix of Death Metal, Thrash Metal, and Hardcore. In the third quarter of 2021, .Krushya. released their album ".Dogma." via Narcoleptica Productions. And ".Dogma." is a very special album indeed because it features plenty of friends of .Krushya. as well as fellow musicians from their home town Patras. Music-wise too, the album is special as it shows a very strong tendency towards Grindcore and Death Grind.

Darker Sun - Adumbrated (MR)
And while we are here, here is another release by Narcoleptica Productions that might blow your mind. Darker Sun from Slovakia have released their first album "Adumbrated" on December 04, and it contains nine instrumental tracks that are full of motion, thrill, and space. The atmospheric sounds bend the pillars of Industrial and Post Metal, and thus build a bridge between those worlds. The cold and yet lively soundscapes on "Adumbrated" let anthroposphere and nature come together.

The Soulbreaker Company - Kill the Devil (with his Dick) (MR)
Another track from the great compilation "Grados.Minutos.Segundos" by Spinda Records. On this four-minute banger, The Soulbreaker Company from Vitoria Gasteiz, Spain presents a very imaginative technique of how to fight the devil. Therefore, the band makes use of fuzzy and occvlt sounds which then beautifully grind on 70s Rock and Folk themes and thus create a gorgeous slow-motion thunderstorm.

Shy, Low - Snake behind the Sun (Live in Richmond, V.A.)
Shy, Low's latest studio album "Snake behind the Sun" was out in October 2021. The release on hand was recorded during a live session on August 28, 2021 at Van Jester Woodworks in the band's home town Richmond, Virginia. Lovers of Post Rock and Post Metal should not hesitate giving this stunning recording a spin. If you are a fan of the studio version, this live session will add certain sparks to your listening pleasure.

Lewca - Deconstructivism (MR)
Paris-based genre-bending ad style-merging artist Lewca has been very productive in the last year. To finalize 2021, the compilation "Deconstructivism" features songs from collaborations, B-sides, remixes, and other tracks that did not make it on Lewca's regular albums. And so, Lewca invites us to a gloomy dancefloor where the drinks are cheap, the sound speakers are run down, and the music is loud. Call it Indie Rap, Post Funk, Disco Punk, or just progressive nihilism, this is awesome! If Derrida would like it, I cannot tell.

Los Yolos - Rock Ciudad (MR)
This fve-track EP was released on Christmas Day 2021 via Humo Internacional. Los Yolos who might either be from Tulsa, Oklahoma or from Spain, depending on which page you search on present a dusty, dry, and burning hot alloy of Desert Rock, Post Punk, and Rock en español. The band takes us back to the 1980s via a sound that is both melancholic and dynamic, autochthonous and mesmerizing, reflective and optimist.

Tarah Who? - Push me (MR)
Tarah Who? might be one of the greatest bands inside and outside the realms of the Grunge Revival. The Los Angeles-based duo is back with another powerful anthem. On 'Push me', Coralie Hervé (drums) and Tarah G Carpenter (vocals, guitars) are supported by Ani Kunz (vocals, bass), Fabio Couto (percussions), and Jason Orme (guitars). With this line-up Tarah Who? have produced a smashing Grunge and Stoner hymn that shares the energy of 24/7Diva Heaven's 'Potface'.

Spinda RecordsAño IV
Spinda Records from La Líne da la Concepción celebrate their fourth year. Therefore, the label has provided this great compilation featuring Les Conches Velasques, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, James Vieco Band, Battosai, Doctor Sax, Delobos, Maragda, Lunavieja, Plastic Woods, and Cuneo. On thirteen tracks, these acts enchant us with progressive, experimental, and hypnotizing sounds.

Henchman - Pictures on the Wall (MR)
Looking at pictures has the potential to open up a powerful vortex that drags your thoughts and emotions to distant places, old memories, or hypothetical situations. Imagination, melancholy, and the feeling of getting lost play a certain role here, and exactly those mental states define major parts of the Hardcore Punk, Math Rock, and Noise presented by Paris-based Henchman's new album "Pictures on the Wall". The music on this album is emotional, intelligent, harsh, and sometimes fuzzy - a hot recommendation indeed.

Nightshot - Renacer
Spanish Hardcore band Nightshot will turn 10 years in 2022. Ten ten days before the year of their anniversairy began, the band called for their rebirth with the song 'Renacer' (Spanish: 'to be reborn'). On massive and heavy East Coast-style Hardcore, Nightshot tell the tale of a person who has been through tough times and thus tries to numb themselves. But as you cannt be reborn without dying in the first place, you cannot grow without fighting.

Spellbound Circle - La Processione della Volpe (MR)
Ylenia DeRocco (drums), Aurelio Pizzuto (bass, cello), and Michele Banfi (guitar) from Bergamo, Italy are "two nice guys and a kind lady bashing strings and skins in the name of music" as it says on their Facebook page. As Spellbound Circle, the Italian trio has called for the "Procession of the Fox" (or: "La Processioe della Volpe" in Italian), their sophomore album following 2019's "Escalation". The band lets genres and moods flow into each other and thereby creates comfortable and soothing atmosphere for the dreamers.

CEMËNTERI - El Verano más corto (MR)
'El verano más corto' means 'the shortest summer' and itis the contribution to Spinda Records' "Grados.Minutos.Segundos" by CEMËNTERI from Alicante, Spain. Different to many other bands featured on this compilation, CEMËNTERI stand out by harsh, fast, and raging sound attacks. Their hymn to the shortest of all summers is a hail of fists, a merciless Hardcore Punk banger.

Leitkegel - Deutschland's bester Arbeitgeber (MR)
The German word Leitkegel means traffic cone, and actually most German-speaking people probably do not even know that word. In September 2021, the band from the Rhine-Ruhr-Area released a three-track EP called "Deutschland's Bester Arbeitgeber" ("Germany's best employer"). The mini release contains the (Post) Hardcore banger 'Ich find' das alles sehr belastend' ('All of this is very debilitating to me'), the emotional Screamo hymn 'Arme, Beine, Köpfe, Haltung' ('arms, legs, heads, stance' - while the latter can also mean 'conduct'), and the Tocotronic cover 'Ich verabscheue euch wegen eurer Kleinkunst zutiefst' ('I deeply detest you for your cabaret'). Although the EP is very short, it is a colourful bouquet for fans of Punk Rock, Post Hardcore, and linguistics.

Neon Heart - Livet/Ytan (MR)
Neon Heart from Stockholm, Sweden are known for their improvised psychedelic and hypnotizing sound experiments. Based on Krautrock, Prog, Fusion, some Jazz, and a certain tendency towards Space Rock, the quintet has recorded thirteen new tracks in 2020. On New Year's Eve 2021 those songs were released as a double album. The first part "Livet" (Swedish: "Life") contains six tracks, and the remaining seven songs make the second part "Ytan" ("surface"). The result is a deeply hypnotizing sonic journey.

Рудольф - Первенец (MR)
Рудольф (pronounce: Rudolf) from Moscow, Russia say happy new year. Their newest album "Первенец" (Russian: "Fistborn") was out on New Year's Day 2022 via [addicted label], and thus makes the new year begin weirdly. How weird? Рудольф have found their own style in an eclectic combination of Powerviolence, Hip Hop, Jazz, and Sludge - and yes they do play and combine all of these styles. Nothing is holy, hail Рудольф!
