Palomino Blond - ontheinside (MR)
Since Palomino Blond formed in Miamia, Florida in the 2018, the band has had some amazing output. The demo tape was followed by several single, a split with Las Nubes, an EP, and since November 2021, their debut album is out via Limited Fanfare Records. On the seven-track release, the Floridan band introduces themselves by playing hypnotizing psychedelic and misty Shoegaze sounds. But right after the title track, Palomino Blond prove that their album has a lot more dimensions to discover. Emotional but heavy Alternative Rock grinds on gloomy Post Punk and Dream Pop airs, and thus creates 27 minutes of wholesome sonic experience.
Listening recommendation: 'Phoebe', 'Magnolia', 'Stone'

LAZA! - Girls (MR)
Althogh LAZA!'s debut single 'Girls' is clearly aiming towards Alternative Rock, Synth Pop, and related styles defined by gloomy atmosphere, the song has a lot more to offer. Firstly, there is the musical know-how of Luiza (saxpophone) and David (cello) that give 'Girls' an imposant and heavyweight drive. You can hear Jazz, Funk, and Soul influence the thrilling soundscape as well as a sonorous and gorgeous classic impact. And finally, 'Girls' is an enthusiastic and yet sober anthem for empowerment, emancipation, and fight for equality.
Listening recommendation: play it loud, and smash patriarchy

Daggerplay - National Day (MR)
Released on Finland's Independence Day (
Itsenäisyyspäivä), this song by Helsinki's Punk'n'Roll band Daggerplay is a call for peace. Right wing terrorism is spreading all over the world, the people are getting divided more and more, inequality is increasing. Thus, Daggerplay from the alleged happiest country in the world call the people to stand together and to oppose violence and hatred with love and solidarity. Their new single 'National Day' is a heavly rolling and dynamically feet-moving dance number.
Listening recommendation: Spread kindness while dancing. Let love win.

The Rec - two-fingered gestures (MR)
The fourth EP by Shropshire's The Rec is opened by the self-introducing anthem 'The Rec'. The EP "two-fingered gestures" is part of a series that contains five EPs and celebrates The Rec's forty years anniversairy. For the first time ever, the band from Owestry has uploaded their sound to major streaming platforms to keepthe sound alive. And by listening you can tell that The Rec's Post Punk has not aged a bit. Soft piano ballads like 'Factory Lil' or 'For sale', or fuzzy Post Punk hymns like 'This is the Rec' or 'College Road' draw beautiful, timeless, and misty pictures of a world that s worth fighting for.
Listening recommendation: 'This is the Rec', 'For sale'

Frida / فريدا - The Freedom to be / ألني أحب  (MR)
Lebanese artist Frida (or فريدا) has released her latest album "ألني أحب" (Arabic: "The Freedom to be") in December 2021. The musician from Beirut takes traditional sounds of Arabic folklore and combines them with Soul, Jazz, and the power of passion and belief in change. Artistic soundscapes build the powerful backbone for Frida's songs about female empowerment, equality, passion, and love. The artist's voice is soothing, warm, and yet smoky and rough. Frida and her release "ألني أحب"  need to be heard.
Listening Recommendation: 'مّي كمان / Hemmige', 'Dis-moi, l'ami'

Poploader - Books of Love (MR)
The first riff make sit obvious that this song is at least influenced by The Ramones if not an honest tribute. Poploader from Bavarian town Regensburg hereby present their third single which deals with the fragility of a person's heart. The "Books of Love" are a priceless good, and ths they shall not be burned. Poploader's Be-careful-about-Love song is a Surf Rock and Garage Rock-influenced Indie Pop banger that lets the sun shine.
Listening recommendation: Read the books of love, listen to 'Books of Love'

Bones in Butter - Stop dancing now! (MR)
Never mind human progress, this is doom! Belgrade's
Milutin Krašević has teamed up Luna Skopelia, Stefan Acimovic, Pavel Popov, Damjan Kapor, Marcelo Effori, and Srdjan Popov. Together, Bones in Butter drag their listeners into a deep and dark vortex filled by flashing lights and images of the status quo of humanity: ruthlessness, selfishness, greed, lack of empathy. Is this the end of humankind? Or should we maybe just 'Stop dancing now!', and take action instead? If you know Bones in Butter, you are familiar with their amazing approach to Post Punk, Wave, and Experimental music. With 'Stop dancing now!', the Serbian band has produced another powerful anthem of sonic darkness.
Listening recommendation: Change the world so we can dance again

Strangelight - The World needs Laughter (MR)
The story behind this EP was written by COVID. Strangelight from Oakland, California have just finished recording their debut album "Adult Themes" when the first lockdown forced to them to not see each other for months. Once back to rehearsin and playing music together, four new songs were written on which the Californian band expresses the feelings and emotions that they connect to the coronacene: anxiety, cynicism, fear, unertainty, anger, and the epiphany that "The World needs Laughter". The result is a monster of a Noise, Hardcore Punk, and Garage Rock album that can be ordered as a one-side 12'' vinyl record here.
Listening recommendation: 'Lead Blanket', 'The World needs Laughter'

Eva Gardner - Darkmatter (MR)
"Darkmatter" is the second solo album by Eva Gardner from Los Angeles, California. The gifted musician has toured with The Mars Volta, Veruca Salt, Tim Burgess, Moby, Gwen Stefani, Tegan & Sara, Cher, and P!nk. This various catalogue may show Eva Gardner's versatile taste and approach to great music. And this is exactly what "Darkmatter" mirrors. Fuzzy and punkish Alternative Rock as in 'London Nights' easily fits on the same release as a colourful Indie Rock or almost Dream Pop anthem like 'Anywhere but here' as Eva Gardner magically lets these sounds flow into each other with great talent and stunning vocals.
Listening recommendation: 'London Nights', 'High Moon'

Moon Walker - The Hollywood Machine (MR)
In September 2021, Moon Walker from Los Angeles released their first album "Truth to Power". Around ten weeks later, Harry and Sean from California are back with another amazing single. And of course, it comes with massive fuzz, an entertaining music video, great haircuts, super catchy riffs, and Moon Walker's typical kind of humour. The new single is a colourful and fantasticically psychedelic steam roller that is rolling forward nonstop.
Listening recommendation: Everything than Moon Walker have released so far, including this single, ad turn off your TV

Under Delusion - Awaken (MR)
Alternative Rock and Post Punk band Under Delusion from Russian capital Moscow have released their seventh single 'Awaken' on Christmas Eve 2021. On anthemic and thrilling dark riffs, Under Delusion tell the fantastic narrative of an awakening. Glistening light beams and the sheer darkness of the moments before dawn merge on this exciting soundscape. And so, Under Delusion combine the darkest version of 1990s pop music with gloomy Alternative Rock, and thereby create hit after hit. Their seventh single is most definitely one of the greatest songs, the Russian band has released so far.
Listening recommendation: Turn off the lights, light some candles, turn up the volume, feel the awakening

Year of the Fist - I want your Love (MR)
DCxPC Live presents another amazing live album. The fourth part of their series features a live recording by Year of the Fist from Oakland, Florida at the Ivy Room in Albany, California, in 2021. The single 'I want your Love' is a merciless flagship of 1980s style Punk'n'Roll and Hardcore Punk. Year of the Fist instantly turn your living room into a moshpit once this record is on the turntables: Melodic, fast-forward, and honest Punk Rock music with passion.
Listening recommendation: Use this for working out - the next moshpit will come sooner or later

Jesse Grossi - Rock'n'Roll (MR)
Jesse Grossi is known for churning out hits like an assembly line. Another thing, the artist from Los Angeles, California is loved for, are the cool comic style music videos that please the listeners' eye. For his new single 'Rock'n'Roll', Jesse Grossi presents a video that is a beautiful hommage to Charles M. Schultz and his "Peanuts". The cartoon pictures accompany a song that contains only few Ska motifs compared to many other Jesse Grossi releases. Instead, 'Rock'n'Roll' is a super catchy - nomen es omen - Rock'n'Roll tune.
Listening recommendation: Keep Rock'n'Roll alive, and re-read Snoopy and the Peanuts

The Lowtones - Breaking out (MR)
Oli, Tim, Jack, and George from English town Norwich are The Lowtones. The band has formed in the first year of the coronacene, and has released their latest single 'Breaking out' on December 13, 2021. The sound presented on this stunning track combines 1980s Depro Punk with Post Punk and Alternative Rock. One might think Fliehende Stürme had teamed up with Human Tetris and Darker My Love on this banger. And somehow the bridge reminds Falco's 'Amadeus'.
Listening recommendation: This song comes excellent with torches or candles - it is up to you

Kinishao - Always in my Head (MR)
There once was a lawyer in French town Saint Paul Trois Châteux. One day he sold his law firm to follow his passion: music. Is this where the story ends? Most certainly not, this is just the beginning. It is the bginning of the story of Kinishao who has recently released his new single 'Always in my Head' - a high quality stimulant made from Indie Rock, French Pop, and Funk.
Listening recommendation: Wake up to this song, and the day is yours. Also, you probabaly will not need any coffee to this.

the holdout - Won't be leaving here today (MR)
The year 2020 was a tough one for the American West Coast. Wild fires destroyed vast masses of land, and took many lives and dreams. In the same year, merciless blizzards hit the Northern part, such as the home of Andi, Aaron, and Paul, also known as power trio the holdout from Portland, Oregon. On their second release, the holdout have processed the happenings of a year in which the virus was only of many huge catastrophes. As all three band members sing, "Won't be leaving here today" is very various. Music-wise, the holdout show that they were raised Punk Rock but also know how to implement real emotions and melancholy to their music.
Listening recommendation: 'High High Fiving', Non Grata'

Orchester der Kulturen - A World Symphony (MR)
The Orchester der Kulturen (German: Orchestra of Cultures) is the only orchestra on Earth that plays with instruments from all continents, regions, and cultures. This is real World Music. The orchestra from South West German city Stuttgart combines classical and ethnical sounds, and represents them in the most authentic way. The album on hand "A World Symphony" is a collection that looks back on eleven years of the Orchester der Kulturen's work, but also looks forward. Here, classical pieces such as the stunning aria 'Ave Verum' come together with modern Turkish-German song 'Sonbahar' ('autumn'), or the romantic 'La Flor y La Duda' (Spanish: 'the Flower and the Doubt'). This album is a masterpiece that reminds us that we are one people living on one planet.
Listening recommendation: 'Sonbahar', 'Mongolisches Pferderennen'

Cave Suns - No Guards (MR)
And for the finale of this episode of Fresh Mango, Ewan, Mike, Dan, and Kit, also know as Cave Suns from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England enchant our senses on a deep psychedelic sonic journey. Their latest EP "No Guards" is an authochthonous and authentic D.I.Y. product as it contains four improvised songs that were recorded live with an iPhone. A fuzzy and warm bass dances along with a krauty, somehow jazzy but heavy drum set. On top, the guitars create a musical firework made from Funk, Stoner Rock, and sonic acid. Heavy, hypnotizing, and honest.
Listening recommendation: 'To whom it may concern', 'Essesse'
