Zeremony - Survivin' Rock'n'Roll
Release Date: July 01, 20222
Label: selfrelease
Format: Vinyl/CD/Digital
Duration: 51:22
Genre: Retro Prog / Blues Rock
Origin: Würzburg, Germany

In 2015, Lower Franconian trio Zeremony was born from the ashes of several half-baked projects and bands. It was a like a rise like phoenix from burned remains. Within short time, a first demo and the debut album "Soul of the Zeremony" were crafted, on which the band presented a heavy, blues-laden, and organ-driven Heavy Rock with tendencies towards Psych and Stoner Rock.
A strong caesura or change of paradigms could be spotted when Zeremony released their stunning EP "Cosmic Dystopia" in 2019 - a powerful and heavy Retro Prog banger. Click here for a (German) concert review of the release show.

A StartNext crowdfunding campaign has now allowed the trio to release their second full-length album "Survivin' Rock'n'Roll". And on this eleven-track release the journey towards more progressive and rolling sound continues. Here is the new sound by Frank Schauer (drums and percussion), Daniel Schlör (hammond organ, vibraphone, synths), and Ilja Schneider (guitar and vocals).

Zeremony enchant our hearing with very dynamic and versatile compositions made from Blues Rock, Retro Prog, a certain occult atmosphere, and the irrepressible force of those who have survived Rock'n'Roll. With anthem such as 'Yeah', ballads like 'Vintage Boogie', avalaunches like 'Into the Fire', or serious thoughts on traffic and consumerism as in 'Live it up', the trio shoots hit after hit.

Without doubt, "Survivin' Rock'n'Roll" is the most confident, the strongest, and the most Zeremony album by Zeremony so far. Althouth the songs 'I want you tonight' and the title track might muffle the euphoria by a little, altogether "Survivin' Rock'n'Roll" is a sheer feast for lovers of dynamic and intelligent Rock music. Between minimalism and artistic approaches, Zeremony have created a stunning sound for heavy rotation. Radio DJs might also like that the tracks 'Live it up', 'Into the Fire' and 'Survivin' Rock'n'Roll' come as edits as an encore at the end of the album.

Cheers to a great album, and cheers to surviving Rock'n'Roll!
