Welcome to the Swamp. Lunar Swamp from Catanzaro in Calabria, Italy have recently came out with their first release "UnderMudBlues", a five-track Mini-CD available on Californian label Fuzzly Cracklins.
As you might get from both band name and album title, this is all about heavy doom-ridden Swamp Blues. Lunar Swamp themselves call their style Shamanic Doom Blues - a well-fitting description of the music displayed on their debut.

The five tracks on "UnderMudBlues" are defined by heavy psychedelic Blues motifs, an omnipresent Fuzz effect and the occult atmosphere of Doom Metal. Like stompig through oozy terrain the trio ponderously moves forward.
Drummer S.M. Ghoul is responsible for the steady and intense motion in powerful mid-tempo. Guitar player Machen adds plenty of layers and loops on his instruments. His multi-level Fuzz sounds reachse from Sabbath-like Blues Rock over to 70s Psychedelic Rock to brachial Doom Metal riffing. Mark Wolf completes the soundscape with FX, Harmonica and his mesmerizing vocals

In the song 'Magic Cricle at Twin Moons' (video above) the trio shows off the full spectre of their multi-layer occult Doom Blues range. Generally speaking, Lunar Swamp are remorseless, powerful and stunning on their first release. This one might catch lovers of Heavy Blues Rock such as VUG, as well as fans of occult Doom Metal like Candlemass, and also Swamp Blues fanatics who enjoy Pretty Lightning or Little Albert.
