Single Review: Vera Revive - What it means to forgive (2020)

Phoenix-based band Vera Revive recently released their first single "What it means to forgive".
Tough Post Hardcore is mixed with Alternative Metal, melancholic harmonies and melodic leads. Inner conflicts about the act of forgiving and apologizing are wrapped up in a brachial soundscape between hoarse shouting and smooth vocals. The structure of the song reminds of a musicked inner monologue. Despite the content and the musical features Vera Revive's "What it means to forgive" does not sound like an Emocore revival. Readers of this blog might discover similarities to Australian band Without Belief.
