It’s not the coronavirus you should be afraid of - it’s HantaVirus, a Panamanian metal outfit. With a new music video they are here to remind you with that “los recuerdos suenan alto” and those memories can (and will) haunt you.

The song instantly hops on the groove metal wagon, throwing in an epic riff after an epic riff, with constant double drum pedalling and compressed the fuck out sound. Overall it sounds like a testimony from a bastard child of Chimaira, Bullet for My Valentine with a Disturbed-ish upbringing, endowed with vocals of young James Hetfield. It’s brutally heavy for heaviness sake, keeping that fresh simplicity and lumberjack songwriting.

The video itself is of certain interest, it possesses that special charm of an honest-to-god metalhead mind and a modest budget. If you watch it first time and don’t understand spanish it might look the dude is really suffering over that goddamn cup, loses his shit, and then the lady runs away. But with further research it becomes clear that the cup is not the enemy, but rather a symbolic representation of the misery that the bearded gentleman has to withstand when living through the breakup process. And the shit gets even darker in the end - don’t want to spoil it for you, but everything connects: this fucking cup, bouncing titties and a blood stained machete.

To sum it up, it’s some good ol metal fun, of the MTV Beavis n Butthead era. Hantavirus is on it’s way to glory, securing the territory among the likes of Machine Head, Damageplan and other established groove maniacs.
