First of all, and because it cannot be said often enough:

Origin: Leipzig, Germany

The header of this article might cause some obscurities and questions. Let us begin with the asterisk at the release date. According to the label's homepage, the digital release of Paul Pecho's debut single was on July 28, 2021. Nevertheless, the EPK tells us that it was not until August 27, 2021 that this two-track single was published. But this might just be transposed digits. The vinyl release had to be postponed umpteen times due to several 2020 reasons and beyond. The delay was over 200 days long. Therefore, both March 18 and March 31, 2022 can be found as official release dates of the 7'' vinyl. The important part though, is that this beauty is finally available, and it is only waiting for some heavy spinning on your turntables.

Another question might be, who is Paul Pecho? Well, that one is easy to answer. Paul Pecho, also known as guitar player and vocalist at Leipzig's Heavy Psych trio Black Salvation, is a musician who has hereby presented his first solo output.
And what is the deal with the single's title? As Nuremberg's The Black Elephant Band once sang in his early phase 'Confusion, confusion, confusion'! There are sources in which the single is called 'Curtis Yellingmouth / Neatly Framed' as referring to the both song titles contained on it. Furthermore, the Spotify version is simply called 'Curtis Yellingmouth'. That leaves Spotify users with two single/EP releases, both with the exact same name and cover artwork - but one being the previously released single, and the other one being the actual two-track release.
The Bandcamp version suited me best since its title 'Neatly Yellingmouth' is a cute little clipped version combining both song titles. That is the one I am going for.

And what about the music?
Well, the sound that Paul Pecho presents on 'Neatly Yellingmouth' is not too far away from the music he plays with Black Salvation. The two songs, each of them autochthonously convey a thrilling laidback and exciting soundscape. Paul Pecho enchants our ears with sonic horror and occvltism paired with deep psychedelia and rush.
And thus, these stunning two songs invite us to a vintage joyride before they pour us some sunshine acid, hand us a ticket for the ghost train, and let us have the time of our lives. If this release's mental cinema makes you wake up at a coven or a mystic circle, then you did everything right.
