Releases from Moscow's [addicted label] have one thing in common. They are very hard to categorize. Therefore, the label has a certain similarity to Greek music community Polyscope, as a side note for those who enjoy experimental and boundary-breaking music.
Detieti's "Frogressive Punk" is a perfect example for these introductory words. What do artists do when their music does not fit any genres? They create their own genre. Thus, Juice Oh Yeah play Klezmer Doom, and Detieti play Frogressive Punk.

Listening to the first track 'Cocaintro' (video above; awesome title by the way) might give you a certain impression about what is happening here. Funk meets Jazz, slides into atmospheric and heavy Post Rock, joins a wild dance with Punk Rock and Folk tunes and somehow easily matches with rap lyrics. Metre and rhythms change more often as you can follow them and yet, there is continuity and coherence within this sheer madness.

Change is the steady feature of "Frogressive Punk".Whenever the listeners might have found a way to move their body to the music, Detieti intervene with a strong "нет!" and implement the next harsh break. As Charlie from Galerie 03 would probably say, this is music for an experienced hearing. Detieti know how to manipulate the human desire for cohesion and easily play with it by putting up plenty of traps for our ears.

You can call this Art Rock, Experimental, Post Rock, Fusion, Freakshow or whatever. One thing is certain. Detieti's "Frogressive Punk" is a beautilful display of genius and madness. Fans of Tschaika 21/16, ni or Рудольф should definitely consider playing this cassette on their car stereo. This album does not have to make sense to be awesome, and yet there is coherence within this insanity.
