The name Fuck the Facts sounds like a contemporary comment on the rise of stupid conspiracy theories. But actually, the Québécois band has been around for over twenty years and has recently released their ninth longplayer "Pleine Noirceaur" (French: "Full Darkness"). Th trio consisting of Mélanie Moneon, Topon Das and Mathieu Vilandre has coined the term Bastardized Grindcore which I would describe as a melange of British-style Grindcore, massive Sludge and a Black Metal atmosphere.

The twelve tracks on "Pleine Noirceur" basically change between two tempi. Firstly, there is the heavy machine gun fire of Grindcore, and secondly, Fuck the Facts play sluggish brachial Sludge riffs that sound like the heavily armored army of the dead arising from the swamps of hell. Black Metal staccati on the other side find their way into both of the styles and thus make a linking element fort the total soundscape.

The lyrics on "Pleine Noirceur" are in French and English, and they concern classic topics of Grindcore and (DS) Black Metal. Mélanie Mongeon's massive screams address loss, death, desolation, isolation, deracination, depression, and of course darkness. The musical landscape these messages are conyed on is an exciting and brutally dark one. Fuck the Facts have produced an album that will please fans of Terrorizer, Matyrdöd and Celeste at the same time.

Stunning sludgy and blackened Grind!
