Ayermaniana were last featured here in the Discoveries of the Week. Their last release "E Reflejo" might not be super new. Actually, the album is almost two years old the days I'm beginning to review it. But it would be a crying shame not to talk about this hypnotizing release from Argentina.

Ayermaniana means "Yesterday Morning" in Spanish and as you might have guessed yourselves, the album title "El Reflejo" means "The Refection". On their third longplayer, the quintet from Buenos Aires takes their audience on a mind-expanding journey through thick smoke and stunningly colourful images. It is their raw mix of Psychedelia and Krautrock with Prog that makes "El Reflejo" such a unique experience.

The mesmerizing sounds are carried by hectic but on-point drum beats. Like Acid Jazz the rhythms make your synapses dance. Bass, guitars and saxophone create a krauty and psychedelic atmosphere on these impressive patterns. And top there are the lyrics that appear like the words you hear somewhere behind the dusty curtains of your rush. I imagine, this is an approach to what an Ayahuasca session might feel like.

Ayermanina sound like the crazy version of KNEI to me, and I would really enjoy watching those two great bands share a stage. "El Reflejo" is pure acid for your eardrums.
