I found this album while looking for the hottest Prog releases of November 2020. By the way, the full list of what I discovered can be viewed here.
"Step Well" is the debut by Florida's trio doctrine which consists of
Chris Burmeister - bass, rhodes piano,
Chris Ratliff - drums, piano,
Jeremy Burmeister - guitar.
Guest appearances on "Step Well " are
Lily Carassik - trumpet on 'I wore a Suit one Time' and 'Finger Trap',
Yasmin Ogilvie - saxophone on 'I wore a Suit one Time' and 'Finger Trap'.

doctrine have created meditative and psychedelic soundscapes of Jazz and Surf. The instrumental tracks are defined by atmospheric and light-footed jazzy tunes. Piano, rhodes and drums are resposnible for the heart-warming feel-good mood this album creates. On the second and on the last track the wind instruments by the guest musicians emphasize this loungy and comfortable atmosphere. Bass and guitar on the other hand create a beautiful Surf Rock motion that adds swift dynamics to this lean-back atmosphere.
doctrine's "Step Well" feels like a comfortable evening at the beach with the sun setting over the Gulf of Mexico. So turn up the volume, close your eyes and you might see seagulls and windsurfers. This is a hot recommendation not only for fans of Kamala.
