In September 2021, South Carolina's Salti Ray released their debut EP "The Right Thing". It was a very political release coined by the environment of its production: BLM, the beginning of the pandemic, Trump's new anti-abortion bill, ... Music-wise, "The Right Thing" was a very smooth Dream Pop release defined by soulfully and emotionally atmospheric sounds. Less than a year later, Salti Ray are back with a new single, and it presents a much more edgy sound.

Shoegaze and Dream still make up a lot of the soundscape of "Luxury". But in their new single, Salti Ray present a rougher and heavier sound than before. Their independent rock sound is still very atmospheric, but has now received a strong late-90s Alternative Rock dress. And thereby "Not-Your-Father's-Indie-Rock-Band" Salti Ray sound more self-confident than ever before. My personal recommedation: put Salti Ray in a playlist together with Iceland's BSÍ.
