What if the good old wunderkind Ludwig van Beethoven was born in generation Y and grew up wearing hoodies and listening to Papa Roach? What would that musical genius' life be like? And most important, what would he smoke?
Ontarian lyricist and rapper The Kyd might have had similar questions when his brother Misfit James looped a beat that reminds of Classic-era symphonies. Thus, The Kyd dropped some freestyles on the beat, and later wrote a full text - "Beethoven's Spliff" was born.

The Kyd and Misfit James take us on a sonic journey back to the 1980s. The duo produces powerful and heavy Boom Bap Hip Hop with a dynamic and comprehensive rap flow.
The mellow beat is defined by the featherweight of the violins on the one hand, and by the massive drums on the other. This is the kind of Boom Bap that KRS-One used to teach on. The vocals are also influenced by New York's 1980s and 1990s rap scene. The Kyd adds some exciting shuffles to his flow and sometimes reminds of Cappadonna or Ghostface Killah.
