Once again, a new release by Paris' restless genre bender Lewca. The artist describes his latest EP "Geezer Pop" with the words "Pretty random I guess...". And actually, the new release is quite different to the previous EPs with regards to content, mood, and style. But still, there is this unique Lewca-style in his rap vocals and his productions. Predominantly, one can say that after several rather cynical releases with somehow serious content, Lewca has now produced his Summer EP. Thus, "Geezer Pop" is mainly defined by light-footed bouyance and loungy atmosphere.
"Geezer Pop" is the Lewca EP you can listen to at the pool, in the bar, or while getting drunk at home. Nevertheless, this release is predestined to turn every floor into a dancefloor - even if there is no floor at all! New Wave, Indie Rock, and Rap create a large part of the soundscape, which is not that surprising if you know previous Lewca releases. But compared to the scratchy Garage Rock sound of his earlier works, on "Geezer Pop" Lewca has added tons of Disco sound to enlighten his music. And thus, "Geezer Pop" feels like a giant party at the beach club that ends in a harsh breakdown in the final track 'Burn'.
