New Plague Radio's debut EP is a release from late 2020 that needs a lot more attention if you ask me. Crossover genres that merge Rock or Metal with Rap seem to be the rage in these days - just think of the recent bangers by Germany's Gebrüder Manns, or French artist Lewca. And here is a trio from the Sunshine State that presents some amazing Rapcore or Punk Rap - this is New Plague Radio!

It all started with rapper Chief Redeye looking for musicians to join him on his 2019 album release show. The talented vocalist and lyricist found guitar player Donovan Wolfington, a Berklee graduate, who then brought in Devin Taylor, bass player with Stretch Zero. While the trio prepared for the show, they discovered their shared love for vintage cartoons and foreign horror films. But that was not all. Between rehearsals for Chief Redeye's release party, the three musicians started writing songs and thereby founded the band New Plague Radio.

Their four-track EP "The Beeswax" is a colourful mix of sounds. Skate Punk and Indie Rock split up into a boppy fan of moods and airs, and finally are finalized by Redeye's powerful and on-point flow and harmonic chants. New Plague Radio are the combined souls of Black Flag, Flobots, Eyedea&Abilities, and Rage against the Machine. As a little easter egg, the song 'Red Headed Dead Girl' contains a reference to Thrash Metal band Slayer. Can you spot it?
