Careless Odds – It's Killing Time...  Release Date: September 22rd, 2021 Label: independent Format: EP Length: 27:15 Genre: punk metal / hardcore Careless Odds, a three-piece punk outfit from Lorton, Virginia presents their first album “It’s killing time…”, and it’s, well, pretty much killer. But a little background first: the band consists of three dudes sharing the family name Abbasi (no Tosin tho), and whole album “culminated from the frustration of finding a proper studio to record” and ending up with building one of their own - which i think is totally fucking awesome. Everything kicks off with a Ramones unfused self titled track with massive overloaded guitars, which kinda explain what to expect next. With Hollow Eyes it develops into a more aggressive grungey punx.  With All that left is Hate the band literally sonically resurrects Buzzoven and makes them bang with Alice in Chains. Careless Odds - It's Killing Time... (Official Music Video) Slaughterhouse kinda p

Low Treble - Two-Bullet Johnny  ( MR ) Two-Bullet Johnny is back in town! Low Treble from Thessaloniki, Greece present the second single of their double EP project. This is some heavy and dynamic Rock music with an honest and funky twist. Turn up the volume and put that pedal to the metal! The treble may be low, but the acceleration is serious here. Betty Benedeadly - Coyote's Fever Dream   ( MR )   Close your eyes and feel how Betty Benedeadly's soundscapes make you discover an environment hostile to life. The term Desert Rock cannot be described better than by this song. If you love the sounds of  Enrico Morricone  or Crazy Arm's second but last album "The Southern Wild" , this instrumental will blow you away. The Dead Krazukies - Go Away   ( MR ) This amazing Punk, Hardcore,

Picture Credit: Lila Khasanlany   Lila Khasanlany - Uranus Fish Release Date: September 17, 2021 Label: selfrelease Format: Digital Length: 15:50 Genre: Modern Metal / Prog Metal Origin: Stavropol , Russia The name Lila Khasanlany  should mostly be acqauinted amongst sophisticates of the Russian and East European music scene. As a particpant of the show "New Star" and as the vocalist of the band ProgressiVe , Lila Khasanlany  has played on plenty of Russian and European stages. In the year 2020, shortly before the outbreak of the pandemic, the artist from Stavropol had an epiphany. It was the birth of "Uranus Fish", her solo debut. It is an EP that concerns the matters of change and progress, the chaos inside everyone's mind, the need for order, and the transformation that everybody experiences during different phases of life. "Uranus Fish" is both, a very personal release for the artist, and a theme that everybody can somehow relate to. And as versat

Single Review: Galladorn - The Dragon Lies Bleeding (2021) - Guest Feature by Ilya Yclept

Galladorn – The Dragon Lies Bleeding (Hammerfall Cover) Release Date: November 19th, 2021 Label: Mariana Trench Records Format: single Length: 4:18 Genre: Power Metal Galladorn, a two-piece metal division, has unleashed a mighty furious cover version of a Hammerfall’s classic, Dragon Lies Bleeding. And it’s pure gold! Originally the song sets the highest bar for the genre, introducing the band to the pantheon of Maiden, Savatage and Blind Guardian. So Galladorn had little space to top it, but rather improve - and they did. The song still breathes the classic heavy metal spirit, but now with better sound. Everything is very close to the original, you can call the purist cover reimaging, because there is actually nothing new to the tune, but the production. Technically it’s flawless and I mean it: the guitar tone, the sound, the vocals and drums, it's an instant win on every level imaginable. I cannot imagine anyone who claims to love metal disliking this cover - either the p
