The meditative, hallucinogetic, and mesmerizing sounds of Drone, Wave, and genres related to Post Rock and Krautrock are not always easy to access. But once you have found your way into this gigantic realm of sound artists, you will need guidance or a compass to keep track. I may not be the best of guidance here, but here is one artist that I want to talk about - this is Demian Castellano, main member of The Oscillation who has recently released his newest album "Untold Futures". The track on hand 'Heart of Nowhere' is a hypnotic hommage to profanity featuring Tim Weller on drums and Jem Doulton on percussions.

In the beginning of this eleven-minute beast of Drone, Wave, and Shoegaze, the Kraut- and Post Rock impact is still very present. Like massive rocks within a giant stream of lava, these riffs slowly vanish. The empty space the rock elements leave behind gets gradually filled by atmospheric and psychedelic synthie sounds and effects. Thus, from the solid masses, The Oscillation lets the audience consequently dive deeper into a fantastic world of dreams and visuals unknown to human eyes. This sonic journey leads us to reals of beautiful absurdity and to a world that might or might not be related to our home. If you love soundscapes like those created by Fungal Dimension, you will love "Untold Futures", too.
