Genre: Garage Rock
Origin: BristolEngland

In their latest single 'Whysky Sunburn', Bristol's Birdman Cult bring up the painful subject of contemporary politics in the so-called Western world. The free world, the global North, or whatever you may call it is drowning in chaotic battles in which the kyriarchy is trying to defend its means with its back to the wall. While liberating and progressive ideals grow, the conservative and revisionist right is doing what it can do best: turn groups against each other.

The fuzzy main riff rolls forward like the chains of a tank while Birdman increase the tension. The synthies and the echoes provide a colourful futuristic soundscape in which Garage Rock and Post Punk merge. The vocals are the most outstanding feature here since they change between narrating voices and an atmosphere that sounds like a prophet foretelling the end of all and everything.
If you need some extra dynamics or you are looking for the track to get you out of bed and onto the treadmill, the single's B-Side 'Poniac' should be your choice.
