Bloodshot Buffalo is the solo project by Sheafer McOmber whose eighth full-length album "Becoming Absence" was dropped via The Swamp Records today. McOmber has recorded the drums, bass, guitars, vocals and plenty of hypnotizing effects on these nine tracks.

The sound on "Becoming Absence" predominantly fits the gernes of Psychedelic Rock and Doom Metal. Nevertheless, Bloodshot Buffalo is maintaning a pretty high velocity that contradicts the sedative features of many Psychedelic Doom artists. This full-throttle Stoner Doom fits the imagery of motorbikes which McOmber often uses in his music videos or cover artworks. I would hence call the music presented here steaming hot Psych Doom which tastes like burning rubber and plain cigarettes.

But something bugs me, and it is the timbre. For my personal taste it is too rattling and lacks sonorousness. If the music was deeper, I would definitely enjoy it a lot more.
