While plenty of punk and garage bands re-discover their admiration for the sound of the 90s, Marine Store Dealer from London revive the sonic heritage of the early days of the punk movement. Eray Çaylı (drums), Martin Pearce (bass, keys, vocals), and Gemma Louise Upton (vocals) guitar from Nottingham and Istanbul play sentimental but dynamic music located somewhere between Garage Rock, New Wave, Punk Rock, Post Punk, and Indie Rock.

Marine Store Dealer's selftitled debut is defined by a velvet atmosphere stretched on butt-moving rhythms and decorated with colourful - somewhat psychedelic - ornaments. The album feels like a sunny and sort-of melancholic autumn day out in the countryside. Somehwere between the asters, a soft breeze, and the smell of apple pie, Marine Store Dealer tell eight stories about life and human condition.

The gloomy Post Punk sound reminds me of Würzburg's The Good Hex, and in more rock-influenced parts, certain parallels to Blondie or Fischer-Z can be found. Nevertheles, this is an autochthonous sound, the Bitish trio provides us with. Marine Store Dealer merge emotions, moods, and genres. The outcome is a melancholic, yet positive release full of colours and passion.
