Larry Butcher and Hans W. Metzger used to play with Bonn's Punk Rock band Wantu & The Srie 4s for more than two decades. After the band split up recently, Metzger and Butcher knew that they still wanted to create music together. Thus, they got a drum computer and started writing new songs. Their first single "Lockdown" was out in May 2020, and the four-track EP "2020 präsentiert..." followed half a year later. The title means "2020 presents..." by the way. And the band name, well "Metzger" is German for "butcher".
Synthetic and organic instruments create a powerful and dynamic sound on which MetzgerButcher sing about breaking out, about laziness, passion, wanderlust, or about the one golden rule in life: don't be a dick!
Their energetic Electro Punk sound can be described as a clash of Egotronic, Fehlfarben, Razzia, and Major Tom. Feelgood electronic punk music for a better world! MetzgerButcher create a colurful soundscape between melancholy and action.
