'Figa' is the newest stunning work by Galicia's exceptional group Tanxugueiras. After recently referring to the old myth of King Midas, the band from Teo is back with 'Figa'. The title refers to an amulet that protects its carrier from the evil eye, and metaphysically can be seen as a symbol for female empowerment in our world that is ruled by patriarchy.


The sound of Tanxugueiras is unique and absolutely thrilling. Masterfully, the band creates traditional Northwest Iberian folkloristic soundscapes, weaves them into a dynamic EDM package, and finally adds pure magic. The polyphonic voices driven by gorgeous Folk and moving Electronica are absoluetly enchanting and thrilling.
