In May, Iceland's Lofi Indie Cute Pop Punk duo BSÍ has released their stunning debut "Sometimes depressed... but always antifascist" (or: "Stundum Þunglynd... en alltaf andfasisk" in Icelandic). Click here to read my review of this amazing album.
Now, that summer is always over, BSÍ grant us with a new video for the song 'My Knee against Kyriarchy' which is featured on the record's B-Side "But alway antifascist" ("en alltaf andfasisk"). The song is a feminist battlecry against kyriarchy. The term kyriarchy was coined by feminst theorist Elisabeth Schüssler and means a wider definition of patriarchy: hence, kyrarchy means a hegemonial state that combines oppressive stuctures such as sexism, hompohobia, transphobia, antisemitism, ableism, racism, and more.
