Kyle Merritts from Somerset County, NJ, has been a bass player for several bands, and also once won a "Battle of the Bands" competition with one of his combos. Coming of age, the musician from Green Brook Township grew tired of playing cover versions, and thus he wanted to produce his own music for quite some time. Peu à peu, Merritts collected instruments and recording equipment until he felt ready to start with the recording to his first solo album. The outcome is the ten-track release "Digital Delays" which is a 100% independent production. That means, Colorfuzz' debut album was written, recorded, mixed and mastered in the artist's room. And there is a lot of energy that has been created within these four walls.

"Digital Delays" is predominantly coined by blurry sounds and a foggy sonic environment. The melancholic atmosphere of Shoegaze creates a thick mist which covers a colourful and boppy psychedelic background. Mesmerizing effects that partially direct towards the realms of Space Rock are cushioned by smooth Indie Rock and soulful harmonies while Colorfuzz crosses the boundaries between Rock and Pop multiple times per track.
Merritts' debut album feels like a thrilling lucid dream full of boppy colours and fantastic shapes that cannot be described by any language. A comparison to Tame Impala seems legit, although "Digital Delays" also features elements of Jangle Pop à la Pretty Lightning, or Shoegaze/Dream Pop in the style of the early 1990s.
