Glitched were formed during the early days of the pandemic by the four friends Mitch (cello), Yves (bass, production), Brian (guitar, vocals), and Tim (drums). Together, they started playing and recording music. Influenced by predominantly 1990s rock and metal sounds, they created a narrative about the happenings of the first year of the coronacene. The album "Chaos World" deals with attitudes getting radicalized, people drifting apart from each other due to polarization, and the power of social media which is a driving force behind these phenomena. The album as been split in three parts, "An Apparition Emerges" was out in November 2020, "They Stopped Pretending" followed in February 2021, and finally, third part "Nothing is enough" concludes the narrative.
"Chaos World, Pt. 3: Nothing is enough" is opened by a thrilling cello part that builds up tension and raises the anticipation for this four-track EP. After this introduction, Glitched provide their audience with a versatile soundscape full of various facets and moods. The second track 'Radius' has a strong Doom Metal atmosphere that leads into a massive Alternative Metal breakdown. The following 'I can't wait no more' is a lot more soulful and melancholic. This mood lasts on into the beginning of final track 'Down', until the quartet raises tension and intensity once more for a forceful Alternative Rock finale. My personal recommendation is, listen to all three parts in a row to experience the whole story. Nevertheless, each of the three parts works as an autochthonous release, and they are as wild, as melancholic, as diverse, as 2020 itself.
Music from every post will stay in the MangoRotation playlist for 14 days.
