title ring a bell? Yes, you are right, this is actually a cover version of the
favourite sing originally performed by John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
Pop Trash Inc from Rotterdam present a less snotty but more psychedelic version
of the classic. The Dutch quartet successfully re-interprets “Instant Karma (we
all shine on)”, makes it a lot more colourful and boppy, and consequently moves
it to the dancefloors.
The four
musicians from Rotterdam are about to release their first album after the EP “1.0”
from 2019. We can expect the album to drop in April 2021. Pop Trash Inc have
been formed back in 2014 and have ever since published plenty of songs distributing
their kaleidoscope-like Synth Pop. Pop Trash Inc play music for fans of
Gorillaz, Daft Punk, or P!nk.
The cover version
of “Instant Karma (we all shine on)” shows a great homage to two of the
greatest and most influential people in the modern history of rock music. And
still, Pop Trash Inc stay true to their Synth Pop roots by creating their very
own interpretations of the song. Hence, you ca imagine John Lennon and Yoko
Ono performing at a gaudy stage surrounded by stroboscope lights.
