Novo Mesto's Isphet is very productive these days. With the EP "Escape Room" released in January, the follow-up work "By your own Hands" was out only three weeks later. This EP was inspired by the "Alien" franchise created by Ridley Scotts. And since I hardly know anything about this franchise, this review will solely focus on the music created by one-person-band Isphet. I can tell from the description on the Bandcamp site that "By your own Hands" concerns existence, creation, and self destruction - just humankind things.

The five tracks on "By your own Hands" are very atmospheric. The Nu Metal impact from the previous release has mostly vanished. Instead, Isphet is now merging their Prog Metal with meditative Ambient sounds and the impressive power of Post Metal. Hypnotizing soundscapes are being painted with flourescent colours of Ambient while harsh metallic breaks impact like meteors. Isphet's sophomore release is a compact and impressive sonic narrative.
