İmece were founded by Mustafa Kuş in 1976. The musician from Turkey studied in the Franconia town Nuremberg where he and his band recorded three albums and one single untiel the year 1985. Now, 36 years after İmece published their last work, Ironhand Records are releasing a 4-track EP containing remastered versions of the original tapes on vinyl. "Veda" (Turkish: "Farewell") is a beautiful hommage to the exceptional works of Mustafa Kuş.

With lightfooted ease İmece combine Funk, Jazz and certain traces of Krautrock with Anatolian Pop. Driven by galopping polyrhythmic drums, İmece create a colorful bouquet of moving, catchy and yet sophisticated sounds. And after all, this is the sound of the 70s and 80s that has left its positive influence on the music by Mustafa Kuş and his band.

My recommendation: turn up the volume, grab a drink and enjoy this awesome clash of Anatolian Pop and Funk.
