Some years ago (maybe 2017?), I had my first encounter with Leeds' LoFi Punk trio Nervous Twitch when they played a gig at the SubstanZ Osnabrück. Originally, they should have shared the stage with Pete Bentham and the Dinnerladies, but if I remember correctly, one of cars broke down and hence, I saw a concert of Nervous Twitch and the Dinnerladies. It was an amazing night! Now, I am very hapy that after loads of EPs and Singles, Nervous Twitch have released their first longplayer via Reckless Yes.

Nervous Twitch stick out of the contemporary Punk Rock scene like a colourful box filled with lollipops, bubble gum and primroses. Their mid-tempo Garage Punk is a joyful hommage to 70s Punk and 60s Rock music. Despite the rather unhurried tempo, the trio knows how to make their audience move their butts. The music on their selftitled LP is an instant invitation to go Uma Thurman and John Travolta on the dancefloor.

Nervous Twitch prove that Punk Rock does not imperatively have to super snotty or a savage salvo of angry screams. The band sings their "Fuck Off!" in a boppy, confident and melodic manner and contently smiles while raising their middle finger. That is what makes Nervous Twitch so autochthonous, so real, and so punk!
This selftitled LP is not only a beautiful prove for the giant versatility of the punk rock genre. It is an awesome release featuring a dozen bangers. Punk Rock with heart and brains for the dancefloors.
