He musicks thoughtful and soulful narratives that have their origin in the Eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea, especially Greek and Turkish Folk can be spotted in his songs. The multitalented musician plays all the instruments of which the oud is the most dominant one. Swift fingerplay on the string instrument create stunning atmospheres of wanderlust and desire.

And after all, there is a undeniable impact of Jazz in the six compositions on "Shapeshifting Wizards". Not the kind of Jazz you might hear in New Orleans every night, but most certainly a folky form of Jazz that can be found between Palermo, Athens, Istanbul, and Tel Aviv.

Thomas Meleteas has provided his audience with a release full of soul and wanderlust. Imagine this Folk Jazz being played at a Mediterranean sunset while you are drinking some redsina.
