Wolle (guitar, bass, vocals) and Stiefel (cajon) are Wollstiefel. The duo's name can be translated to wool-lined boot. On hand is there third album "Straight Outta Gehobene Mittelschicht" which means "Straight Outta Upper Middleclass" which was recorded live at the Ballonfabrik in Augsburg. On eleven songsm the two musicians from Bavaria provide us with minimalist and catchy Acoustic Punk. But Wolle and Stiefel are not alone. Featured musicians on this album are:
Vincent Haack - accordeon,
Hauke I. Marquard - violin,
Johanna Regenbogen - viola,
Veronika Kleiner - cello,
Pascal Plangger - upright bass, and
Jan Bratenstein - mouth harp.

On the surface Wollstiefel's new album is defined by dynamic, melodic folky Punk tunes. Singer Songwriter meets Folk Punk. Despite the acoustic setting, "Straight Outta Gehobene Mittelschicht" is far away from pathetic Oasis covers or cuddly camp fire ambient. Instead, the duo is kicking butt and pointing their fingers at capitalism, neo-fascism, sexism, homophobia, war and escape, or the challenges of the climate change.

But Wollstiefel do not present themselves as moral apostles. They reflect themselves with wit and irony while pointing out that a lot has tobe changed. Even if you do not understand German, you can regard this album as some kind of clash between Bad Religion and Jess Silk. Also, fans of Erik Stenzel should really consider getting a copy of this woke but positive release. The song "und er rennt" ("and he runs") might be the most impressive one on this, being a folky and melancholic narrative about a nameless war refugee who is looking for a life in safety and peace.
